Chapter 845

In Central Continent’s Heavenly Court, Heaven Overseeing Tower Lord, a rank eight Gu Immortal, enters the discussion hall, and the wills of over twenty Gu Immortals turn toward him. He tells Lian Jiu Sheng to awaken, since the Convention is nearing its end and fate Gu’s restoration needs preparation. Restoring fate needs two more rank eights besides Lian Jiu Sheng and him. Two decline, one suppressing beasts at Falling Heavenly River and the other researching a rank nine recipe, but two others agree to wake and fly off with Lian Jiu Sheng. ^{ch. 845}

Three days later the same four rank eight Gu Immortals appear above Hairy Foot Mountain with auras concealed, among them Bi Chen Tian and Bai Cang Shui. Hairy Foot Mountain shines mystically as the four strike, space fluctuating while the mountain shakes only slightly. Only at a sixth round does Lian Jiu Sheng land the blow that changes everything. Hairy Foot Mountain vanishes, and the Infallible blessed land opens before them. ^{ch. 845}

Bi Chen Tian notes more mortal failure Gu than last time, the Convention growing larger. Taking the whole blessed land is difficult: its owner was a refinement path great expert who once troubled Ren Zu, and the land is perfectly enclosed with no entrances. Heavenly Court has taken only thirty of the Infallible inheritance’s thirty-six success dao marks, unable to seize the six left for Convention participants. Breaking the land open outright is possible but would ruin its wonders, so they must force it open again on every visit. Capturing it needs refinement and rule path experts, extremely rare at rank eight. Once restored, fate Gu will display fifty percent of its might, a qualitative change letting Heavenly Court find more fate escapees and restore the Immortal Gu faster. Several have been found, the ones in Southern Border and Northern Plains out of reach, the two in Central Continent already being dealt with. ^{ch. 845}

According to the Legends of Ren Zu, after climbing the giant tree and leaving ordinary abyss, Ren Zu could no longer enter it and had to leave his daughter, Boundless Forest Samsara, behind. He sets out, aiming to rescue her and his eldest child, Verdant Great Sun. ^{ch. 845}

On this road he meets the hairy man leader, his kind’s finest Gu refiner. The hairy man cannot tell whether a Gu he refined is success or failure Gu, and asks Ren Zu to appraise it. Breaking a failure Gu would completely cost him his own sense of self, but Ren Zu, carrying self Gu from his own singular path, can break it safely. Ren Zu agrees, on condition the hairy man gives him the Gu if it proves to be success Gu. ^{ch. 845}

Ren Zu touches the first Gu and wishes for his fourth child’s return, and it crumbles, a failure. Courage Gu flies from him, declares him a failure, and leaves. The hairy man, undiscouraged, offers to improve the recipe; Ren Zu, tempted to chase courage Gu, chooses to wait. The second Gu also crumbles; faith Gu flies out, calls him unworthy, and Ren Zu grants the hairy man one last chance. The third Gu fails as well; strength Gu flies out declaring him unworthy, but as it flees, self Gu bursts from Ren Zu’s heart and bites it, and strength Gu shrieks, sheds a bitten piece, and vanishes. ^{ch. 845}

Self Gu returns proudly, declaring failure has value: it has absorbed repeated failures to grow stronger, and its bite of strength Gu will now give Ren Zu strength of his own. Ren Zu is shocked, and the hairy man, elated, realizes success Gu comes through failure. He rushes off happily, leaving Ren Zu behind. ^{ch. 845}

Heavenly Court’s research finds the blessed land was the hairy man’s own. Hairy Foot Mountain was his former home. After his death, his inheritance gathered others’ failures into mortal failure Gu, condensing into success dao marks as they grew. Once discovered, Heavenly Court captured the blessed land and built the Central Continent Refinement Path Convention on it. The Convention drives the Infallible inheritance to accumulate mortal failure Gu faster, and Heavenly Court uses the marks to restore fate Gu, the origin of it all. ^{ch. 845}
