Success Gu

Success Gu and failure Gu look almost the same as ordinary rocks. Holding them reveals which is which. ^{ch. 547} A Gu the hairy man leader asks Ren Zu to appraise resembles an ordinary rock covered with a thick layer of hair. ^{ch. 845}

After love Gu topples Cheng Bai mountain, Desolate Ancient Moon must search rock by rock for the real success Gu. Cognition Gu says success Gu was at the peak and failure Gu at the bottom, that failure is the mother of success, and that the scattered rocks are success Gu’s siblings. Holding failure Gu would leave her completely lost and in danger of dying. When only two rocks remain, one is success Gu and one is failure Gu; she picks failure Gu. ^{ch. 547}

The hairy man leader later tries to refine success Gu and has Ren Zu appraise rock-like Gu worms by making wishes. Each time the Gu crumbles as failure Gu. Ren Zu wants success Gu to rescue his children. After repeated failures, the hairy man concludes that success Gu is refined through failures, and that more failures bring him closer to success. ^{ch. 845}
