Chapter 764

Heavenly Lord Bai Zu wins the bidding war for the complete Red Fiend Divine Boat recipe. Fang Yuan, the beneficiary of the back door deal, obtains Unravel Mystery Immortal Gu. Only a few people directly involved learn of Fang Yuan’s gain. ^{ch. 764}

Four hours later the auction ends. Fang Yuan asks Tai Bai Yun Sheng whether Fairy Li Shan has replied. She has not, and Tai Bai Yun Sheng suspects something is wrong on her end. Her situation is unclear, so Fang Yuan decides they will leave with the others first, then use Fixed Immortal Travel. He warns that turmoil is coming once the auction’s binding agreement expires. Above crimson reed marsh, Yao Huang stays behind. He tries to buy the Red Fiend Divine Boat recipe from Heavenly Lord Bai Zu. Bai Zu declines. He reveals that his growing number of descendants has him planning to found his own tribe, and suggests future cooperation with Yao tribe instead. The surrounding force leaders change expression: a lone cultivator founding a rank eight backed super force would strike hard at Northern Plains’ Huang Jin dominance. ^{ch. 764}

Yao Huang opens his Immortal Gu House, Medicine Cottage, and invites the gathered Gu Immortals to join. Most super forces attend, including Five Elements Grandmaster representing the lone cultivators. Old Ancestor Xue Hu refuses, intent on refining Fortune Rivalling Heaven from Ma Hong Yun for himself. Feng Jiu Ge meets the Central Continent Gu Immortals in secret among the reeds. They thank him for trading an Immortal Gu on one member’s behalf. He tells them that gaining Zhao Lian Yun probably is not enough to confirm the Imperial Court incident’s true culprit. He has found one suspicious person hidden too deeply to identify. To find him they must start from the auction’s host, Qin Bai Sheng, a famous rank seven Gu Immortal with strong connections. They must strike before he can call on allies. ^{ch. 764}

Representing the ten great ancient sects, they fight on enemy ground, where exposure would likely turn Northern Plains’ Gu Immortals against them as one. Prince Feng Xian still aids them in secret. ^{ch. 764}

Elsewhere, Chanyu Zhong Er, ambushed, shouts at He Lang Zi for attacking Chanyu tribe. He Lang Zi, a wolf the size of a small hill that speaks in a human voice, had set the ambush after leaving the auction early. He demands the sandalwood sacred elephant egg, which came from a mysterious rank eight Gu Immortal of Eastern Sea and fell to Chanyu tribe’s representative during the auction. Zhong Er accuses him of planting an informant and offers a duel: the egg if He Lang Zi wins, a hundred years’ service to Chanyu tribe if he loses. Before He Lang Zi answers, three more Gu Immortals reveal themselves: Hei Cheng, Fairy Jiang Yu, and the demonic path’s Xue Song Zi. ^{ch. 764}

Fairy Jiang Yu names Zhong Er’s killer move, immemorial flame axe, and calls his plan naive. Zhong Er realizes he has badly underestimated human greed and overestimated Chanyu tribe’s standing. He tries to turn Hei Cheng, also Huang Jin bloodline, from colluding with demonic path outsiders against righteous path Gu Immortals. Xue Song Zi mocks that he has neither his elder brother Chanyu Shang Yi’s defenses nor his younger brother Chanyu Xia San’s speed, so his defeat is certain. Zhong Er warns Hei Cheng again that exposure would ruin his reputation and see him hunted. Hei Cheng hesitates until Fairy Jiang Yu’s message firms his resolve. He looses a dark arrow at Chanyu Zhong Er. ^{ch. 764}

At Snowy Mountain blessed land’s third branch peak, Tai Bai Yun Sheng and Fang Yuan arrive by Fixed Immortal Travel. Fixed Immortal Travel bars other Gu worms during the trip, so Tai Bai Yun Sheng raises nine cloud ring as he lands. Finding no danger, they search the room where Fairy Li Shan and Hei Lou Lan met them earlier. They find the two women lying asleep in a bedroom. Tai Bai Yun Sheng starts to approach. Fang Yuan stops him: the women are trapped in a dream realm, and anyone who nears them will be ensnared as well. ^{ch. 764}
