Chapter 1175

Fang Yuan feels shocked: Chu Du’s true aim was removing alliance agreements, not reinforcements. He reasons that asking the Three Crazed Demon Eccentrics for help carries a price. The cave cuts them off from treasure yellow heaven and from the world, and Chu Du, unable to leave Hei Fan grotto-heaven, had to send Fang Yuan and expose the cave’s secret. Testing him, Fang Yuan invents a claim: Chu Du holds many alliance agreements. Not Immortal smiles, and Pang Shan answers confidently that his method resolves an alliance agreement of any path, because his Immortal Gu is called Care. ^{ch. 1175}

Care Immortal Gu sits in the top ten List of Mystical Gu, once third. After Yi Tian Mountain exposed Fang Yuan as reborn through Spring Autumn Cicada, that Gu rose from seventh to third, pushing Care to fourth, though the top ten rarely change. Most of the top ten trace to rank nine venerables: first from Giant Sun Immortal Venerable, fourth, Care Gu, from Limitless Demon Venerable, who sought the secluded domain of heaven and earth named Care in The Legends of Ren Zu. Fifth is Qi Escape Gu, sixth Combat Relocation Gu from Paradise Earth Immortal Venerable, seventh Connect Mind Gu from Star Constellation Immortal Venerable. ^{ch. 1175}

Ren Zu, seeking to save his children, meets a beastman and is struck by Fear Gu. Self Gu offers to eat it, but Ren Zu refuses, since it would fix the fear in him for life. Cognition Gu teaches him to hide fear deep in his heart, since courage will follow, and the courageous are not fearless but keep fear hidden. As he wavers, a Gu arrives, but it is Love Gu, not Courage Gu, feeding on hope and fear together. Love Gu says with it beside him he can summon Courage Gu, and in time Courage Gu arrives, drawn by love’s scent, settling beside Fear Gu, already fast friends. With courage, Ren Zu’s fear dissipates by a huge amount. He can move on. ^{ch. 1175}

Before parting, the beastman thanks Ren Zu for freeing him from his own fear, and offers two Gu in gratitude, Loyalty and Betrayal, letting him choose one. Ren Zu takes both to examine instead, and Loyalty Gu turns into Betrayal Gu while Betrayal Gu turns into Loyalty. Loyalty to others is betrayal of oneself, the beastman explains. Betraying others is loyalty to oneself. Self Gu advises betrayal, since walking his road means betraying others and himself, and Ren Zu chooses it, leaving Loyalty behind. The beastman warns that carrying betrayal bars him from a place called Care, where betrayal harms him, though without Care it cannot harm him at all. ^{ch. 1175}

Back in the cave, Pang Shan calls Care Immortal Gu from his aperture, but tells Not Immortal it alone is not enough. Not Immortal agrees and produces his own Immortal Gu, named No. Pang Shan and Not Immortal release their wills and red date immortal essence as the two Gu float to Fang Yuan, so he can carry them to Chu Du free of lingering worries or backlash. ^{ch. 1175}

Fang Yuan is stunned two rank seven Immortal Gu are lent casually. The two wills settle into his sleeves. Before leaving he asks how to borrow these Immortal Gu again. Neither answers, as Pang Shan shuts his eyes and falls back asleep while Not Immortal only smiles. Fang Yuan sighs and leaves. ^{ch. 1175}
