Betrayal Gu appears in The Legends of Ren Zu as the Gu Ren Zu chooses from a beastman's pair of loyalty and betrayal.
Choice
Love Gu tells Ren Zu to choose loyalty because he already has fear. Cognition Gu tells him to choose betrayal because he already has courage. When Ren Zu holds both, loyalty Gu turns into betrayal Gu and betrayal Gu turns into loyalty Gu. The beastman explains that loyalty to others is betrayal to oneself, and betraying others is loyalty to yourself. Self Gu urges him to choose betrayal, saying that walking his own road means betraying others and even himself. Ren Zu chooses betrayal Gu. ch. 1175
Harm at Care
Before leaving, the beastman warns that with betrayal, Ren Zu cannot go to a place called Care: there, betrayal will harm him, but if he does not Care, betrayal cannot harm him at all. ch. 1175
Flight from Tribulations
When Tribulations strike, Betrayal Gu flies with Weak Gu and fear Gu and urges Ren Zu to run. The three then decide to leave him and fly away; Self Gu bites them as they flee, but they still escape. Rules and Regulation Gu tell Self Gu not to chase them, and say Weak Gu and betrayal Gu cannot help in that moment. ch. 2052
Post-death absence
Ren Zu says that because he died once, betrayal Gu has already left him, and that otherwise if he Care, betrayal Gu will harm him. Great Strength True Martial’s ability Gu then says Self Gu once took a bite of betrayal Gu and gained the inclination to betray. ch. 2184
