Fear Gu

In a later Legends of Ren Zu stretch, Fear Gu leaves Ren Zu unable to advance. He refuses to let Self Gu eat Fear Gu, because he wants to avoid fear staying with him for life. Cognition Gu tells him to hide Fear Gu deep in his heart and move forward so Courage Gu will come, saying courageous people are not fearless, only that they hide fear. Love Gu stays for the smell of hope and fear as its food, and says that with love present Ren Zu can summon Courage Gu. Courage Gu then lands in his heart, plays with Fear Gu there, and much of his fear dissipates so he can move on. ^{ch. 1175}

Affection Gu feeds on the same thing as love Gu: hope and fear. Fang Yuan buys a large number of Hope Gu and Fear Gu from treasure yellow heaven to cover that feed need. ^{ch. 1291}

Weak Gu tells Ren Zu to use Fear Gu with Attitude Gu to scare a Predicament. Ren Zu twists his face with Attitude Gu and uses Fear Gu; the Predicament sprawls and stares, but does not flee. While Ren Zu eats a huge bitter head, Fear Gu on his body shouts that they will never finish. ^{ch. 2041}

When Tribulations strike, Fear Gu, Weak Gu, and betrayal Gu urge him to run, then fly away together; Self Gu bites them as they escape. Rules and Regulation Gu tell Self Gu not to chase, saying that with Tribulations already present, fear only leads to greater pain. ^{ch. 2052}
