Chapter 1126

None of the Gu Immortals here have faced a fight to the death before. Feng Jun is stunned by Fang Yuan’s overwhelming charge, and his only instinct is to retreat. Killing intent surges off Fang Yuan. Zhou Min, beyond fury over her brother’s death, activates her strongest move, Farsight Weapon Light, built on sight light Immortal Gu: sharp golden-white light shoots from her eyes, able to cut down anything. Feng Jun drags her back, trying to retreat. ^{ch. 1126}

Fang Yuan recognizes the move and quickens his charge instead of retreating. Days earlier, as Hei Cheng, he drew this secret from Chen Le, sighing that Zheng Tuo’s group were hard to deal with. She explained Farsight Weapon Light herself: nothing to fear, if he understood it. Warm and admiring, he asked for more, and she flushed and agreed. ^{ch. 1126}

The closer its target stands, the weaker the light becomes; at point-blank range even a mortal killer move can block it. A Gu Immortal facing an unfamiliar attack normally retreats to observe, and that caution is what Zhou Min counts on. Hesitation costs time, effort and essence, or injury, before the weakness is learned. ^{ch. 1126}

Some inheritances trace to Hei Fan’s own blood path research, others, like Zhou Min’s light path, to the criminal immortals themselves. Hei Fan erased sensitive material such as treasure yellow heaven, but some of what the inheritances held about each other was retained. These methods passed down through generations until each became common knowledge, secret from nobody. Elsewhere a killer move usually stays secret, but here that secrecy has broken down, exactly what Fang Yuan came to collect. ^{ch. 1126}

Fang Yuan is guarded as he closes. His robe, pre-stained with blood, is his own defense, the blood path move Bloodstained Conqueror’s Robe, built on blood asset Immortal Gu. He deduced it while Lang Ya Sect’s suppression kept him from developing his aperture, choosing to fix his defense first. During his second earthly calamity that flaw showed plainly, and without Dang Hun Mountain as a base he would likely have died. His wisdom and blood path grandmaster attainment, and the immense blood path foundation built in his previous life, leave him little difficulty in creating the robe. ^{ch. 1126}

Charging into the light unharmed, Fang Yuan’s essence cost falls as the light weakens, as Chen Le described. He closes to within a hundred steps of Zhou Min. Feng Jun, calmer, feels huge fear at his advance, and casts his own defense, Luck Whirlwind, built on qi luck Immortal Gu. The move can repel an attacker or drag one back; the wind is only its surface, the true force formless. Fang Yuan is thrown away, his advance undone, and he counts this as the move’s second use today. ^{ch. 1126}

Feng Jun alone among these immortals climbed Immortal Succession Mountain and became a Gu Immortal. His luck path traces to Giant Sun Immortal Venerable, whose three inheritances were self luck, all living being’s luck, and heaven and earth luck. Long Hair Ancestor received self luck as payment, part later becoming Fang Yuan’s Dog Shit Luck. All living being’s luck went to Eighty-Eight True Yang Building; Fang Yuan once held part as connect luck Immortal Gu. A Hei tribe Gu Master carried that portion out of the building and his line held the qi luck Gu for generations, until punishment after Hei Feng Yue’s disappearance left it waiting on Immortal Succession Mountain for Feng Jun. Luck Whirlwind is the move he has practised the most. ^{ch. 1126}

Fang Yuan recalls Chen Le saying Luck Whirlwind can be cast no more than a hundred times a day. The true limit is tighter: Feng Jun is rank six with a shallow foundation, and each cast drains his essence. A failed cast leaves him open to backlash, unable to repel Fang Yuan, who could then close in and kill them. It may look as though Fang Yuan can do nothing to the two of them, but his advantage is complete. They fight beside a steep cliff, where a careless step means death. Zhou Min keeps raging and firing her light; Feng Jun, calmer but afraid, urges retreat again. ^{ch. 1126}
