Chapter 670

Tai Bai Yun Sheng returns through a stargate to Hu Immortal blessed land from Lang Ya blessed land. Starlight firefly Gu give the gate its light, dwindling as the dead among them fall. Fang Yuan flies over to show him a move he just deduced. Tai Bai Yun Sheng says he bought a cloud path defensive move from the Inkman King and proposes the two spar. ^{ch. 670}

Fang Yuan forms a lump of starlight in his palm. Tai Bai Yun Sheng, recognizing a star path move, raises a ring of white clouds to take a single speck head on, which the ring blocks, turning blue with frost. Fang Yuan fires countless specks next, nearly freezing the ring solid until Tai Bai Yun Sheng detonates it outward as vapor. He then hurls an entire starlight lump, and five cloud rings absorb a blast stronger than the sum of the specks that formed it. Fang Yuan raises all eight arms and fires a continuous barrage, and the five rings self-detonate and replenish in turn until he stops. ^{ch. 670}

Fang Yuan names the move icy drill stardust, his creation, and says that at full strength he can fire up to six water vat sized lumps, each slower the larger it grows. Tai Bai Yun Sheng realizes he used under fifty percent of its power and calls it far stronger than most mortal killer moves, if still short of an immortal one. Fang Yuan credits an inheritance found in Imperial Court blessed land, from a poet named Dou Min Jun who created a new star Gu that raises star path attack power, a weaker form of amplify effect Gu. He fused it into the move, choosing a star path attack because of it. ^{ch. 670}

Tai Bai Yun Sheng explains his own move, nine cloud ring, which at full force keeps nine rings up at once, can be replenished at any time, and can return an enemy’s own attacks. It cost him two immortal essence stones. Fang Yuan calls the price a favor from the Inkman King, and Tai Bai Yun Sheng expects the Inkman King to need landscape as before Gu to repair his blessed land after a future tribulation. Without Little Immortal Xing Luo’s icy yarn and her smaller move six-nine stardust, bought for half an immortal essence stone, Fang Yuan could not have deduced icy drill stardust. Little Immortal Xing Luo later rises in the five regions war using a self-created icy stardust, and Fang Yuan had sought its earlier version from her, judging the two moves he bought to be its foundation. Using wisdom Gu and memory of icy stardust’s power, he avoided deducing blindly. The finished move has a smaller range but far greater power, already slightly surpassing icy stardust. ^{ch. 670}

Tai Bai Yun Sheng admits a little envy of the benefit Fang Yuan gains as a zombie, able to use rank nine wisdom Gu this way. Fang Yuan says being a zombie carries many flaws, and credits Red Lotus Demon Venerable, calling his reaching this state with wisdom Gu a matter of coincidence and luck. Tai Bai Yun Sheng adds that without Red Lotus Demon Venerable breaking fate Gu, their souls would have been drawn into the Door of Life and Death to sleep in the death domain forever. Fang Yuan asks what Tai Bai Yun Sheng learned about the luck path from Lang Ya land spirit, an idea sparked after Long Hair Ancestor once discussed Dao with Giant Sun Immortal Venerable for seven days and seven nights. Lang Ya land spirit is far easier to question than Mo Yao’s will. Tai Bai Yun Sheng says that after he repaired a few rivers, Lang Ya land spirit chased him out, since the land spirit has to eat his medicine grinder chips and is very busy. ^{ch. 670}
