Chapter 1966

Duke Long charges at Feng Jiu Ge, who retreats singing destiny song and summons song warriors that block the dragon claws and fangs and fight Duke Long himself. Duke Long destroys one, a new one appears, and he decides to deal with Feng Jiu Ge directly. Rank eight future self makes the two evenly matched, and the three regions’ Gu Immortals see that Feng Jiu Ge needs no help. Duke Long realizes Feng Jiu Ge had hidden his true strength. Duke Long knows Fang Yuan is a tough enemy, so he fights Feng Jiu Ge instead, for if destiny song fails, Fang Yuan’s side will lack the destiny Gu recipe. ^{ch. 1966}

While Duke Long is stalled, Wu Shuai defends Fang Yuan’s main body with Dragon Palace and Calamity Luck Altar blocks Demon Judgment Board. The battle tilts toward the three regions. Fang Yuan, however, faces a problem: using the sea of human wills as Gu material is wishful thinking, though a possible method. Under destiny song the wills and flames merge into a formless Gu material, and Fang Yuan’s storage of thoughts is nearly emptied. ^{ch. 1966}

Watching Fang Yuan struggle, Spectral Soul says calmly that a certain venerable has prepared for this. He recalls that in Eighty-Eight True Yang Building he wanted to take wisdom Gu, but Giant Sun’s special will asked him to leave it. The will conceded nothing could stop him but was sure he had already bargained with Red Lotus Demon Venerable, from whom he had indeed obtained one true inheritance. The will added that the crucial person would destroy the building and take wisdom Gu along. Spectral Soul did not take it. ^{ch. 1966}

Fang Yuan sighs that he must use wisdom Gu after all. Wisdom Gu is Giant Sun Immortal Venerable’s arrangement, activated long ago, and it flies out by itself as Fang Yuan opens his immortal aperture’s entrance. It floats above him and eases the strain, and he finds it is one of the Gu materials, but his immortal essence now drains faster than he can sustain. If he fails to keep up, the refinement stops and he suffers a terrifying backlash, but he stays calm, since the venerables cannot let him die while he has value. He says it should be Giant Sun’s turn. ^{ch. 1966}

In a dark gold palace in black heaven, immortal zombie Giant Sun opens his eyes and says Red Lotus’ scheme worked after all. He remembers receiving the incomplete destiny Gu recipe from Red Lotus’ will on the stone lotus island, before he became a venerable. He credited Red Lotus’ damage to fate Gu with his chance to create luck path. He promised to leave wisdom Gu, create responsive luck Immortal Gu for the genius who will create destiny song, and keep his final attack for this stage. He agreed to try to refine destiny Gu himself if the will’s plan failed. ^{ch. 1966}

Giant Sun raises his right hand in Luck Suppression Heavenly Palace. An enormous beam of light from black heaven above Northern Plains pierces the regional wall and bombards Heavenly Court. Countless Immortal Gu Houses crack and break, while Limitless’ silhouette keeps Star Constellation Immortal Venerable’s silhouette from dealing with the attack. The beam lands in the sea of human wills and flames, forming a golden ball of light the size of a mountain. Tens or hundreds of heaven path dao marks slip from Fang Yuan’s hands and fly into the sky, and some enter his body in intense pain. Many follow the sources of the human wills, and he becomes certain that Red Lotus wanted to refine destiny Gu but was not truly trying to refine a Gu. ^{ch. 1966}

Each complete mark raises his sovereign immortal aperture’s foundation, an unprecedented and huge fortuitous encounter, so he gathers them although ten complete marks leave him dizzy. As the main refiner he can use no other method, so he grits his teeth and endures. Across the five regions countless mortals scream as marks carve into their bodies, and many faint. Heavenly Court’s fighting stops as its Gu Immortals endure the pain. Duke Long realizes Red Lotus’ plan and turns toward Fang Yuan, while Feng Jiu Ge attacks more intensely to stall him. ^{ch. 1966}

The refinement succeeds as the mountain-like human wills vanish, and Red Lotus’ will tells everyone in the five regions that all hold a portion of fate, so from today there will be no fate. Many mortals commit suicide from the unbearable pain. Duke Long escapes Feng Jiu Ge and reaches Fang Yuan, but the last of Red Lotus’ will gathers into human form and blocks him. It tells its master that it split fate Gu into countless portions given to everyone, and that fate Gu still exists but, fused with luck, can no longer be used by heaven’s will. Duke Long calls him a traitorous disciple and completely destroys the will, and his aura breaks through its limit. A step from Fang Yuan, his lifespan is exhausted, slightly earlier than in the previous life. ^{ch. 1966}

Fang Yuan is not surprised: in Eastern Sea his Qi Sea Ancestor identity used steal life on Duke Long, and it worked, though the effect was low. Duke Long, unaware that the killer move had limited usages, took out Primordial Origin’s true inheritance to avoid Qi Sea Ancestor and grew stronger than in the previous life. He dies at the forefront, having forgotten his lifespan limit in the war, with rage, killing intent and confusion on his face. Heavenly Court’s Gu Immortals cry out and their morale surges. They suppress the more numerous three regions’ immortals. ^{ch. 1966}

Fang Yuan no longer fights and endures the pain as the regional walls separating the five regions completely disappear, the earth veins connect and the regions merge into one. People can move freely, and the differences in heaven and earth qi gradually disappear. The bloody cape on Fang Yuan’s back disintegrates, and he smiles faintly, feeling the freedom in the air and a possibility of pursuing eternal life. He says the great era has finally arrived. ^{ch. 1966}
