Zi Wei At A Loss

The Four Xunzi push Present and Past Pavilion to its limits as Myriad Year Flying Warship nears. The pavilion retaliates with the killer move Slowdown, which sharply slows the warship, but Fang Yuan knows the move and has the silver light around the warship concentrate, breaking it. The warship’s speed returns and it collides with the pavilion, which is not specialized in defense and shatters at once. The Four Xunzi cough up blood and fall into the River of Time. Without the pavilion they cannot retaliate, and Fang Yuan soon kills them all. Never having joined Heavenly Court, they kept their own immortal apertures, though their Immortal Gu were all detonated. He collects their corpses and the scattered Immortal Gu. ch. 1806

Eternal Yacht arrives, and Qing Ye, a rank eight Gu Immortal, sees the corpses on the warship’s deck and vows to make Fang Yuan pay with his life. Qing Ye orders no head-on fight with the warship, but it speeds past its earlier limits and pierces a large hole in the front hull of the larger, slower yacht. The strongest defensive method of Eternal Yacht cannot block even one attack. After another ram badly damages the Gu worms inside, Qing Ye orders a retreat, but the collisions continue and Fang Yuan’s prepared restraining methods answer the yacht’s killer moves. Eternal Yacht is destroyed and Qing Ye falls into the River of Time, as Fang Yuan’s side expected. ch. 1806

The warship submerges and destroys Qing Ye’s dark shield, and as a dark path Gu Immortal he is greatly suppressed in the River of Time. He coughs up blood and tries to reach the surface, but the warship is waiting and slams its base down on his head. His skull caves in and his spine and ribs shatter. The third collision smashes most of his body into pulp and completely destroys his organs. Qing Ye dies, a floating corpse. ch. 1806

The variant human Gu Immortals cheer that they really killed a rank eight Gu Immortal, and even Bai Ning Bing and Hei Lou Lan are visibly moved. Fang Yuan collects the corpse. Qing Ye’s soul had already dispersed, destroyed by his own hand at the end. A dead Heavenly Court Gu Immortal loses the phantom aperture, Gu worms and dao marks, but Lang Ya land spirit told Fang Yuan that such corpses retain the supreme profundity of phantom path. If Fang Yuan comprehends some of it, he might decipher Heavenly Court’s method and use it on himself to control Ying Wu Xie and the rest more strictly. ch. 1806

Fang Yuan’s side destroyed two Immortal Gu Houses and over ten Gu Immortals, and none escaped. Their corpses are gathered and their souls suppressed. Fang Yuan patrols the river, waiting to see whether Heavenly Court sends reinforcements. Qing Ye was unlucky, since the River of Time amplifies time path methods and greatly suppresses others, so he could show only twenty to thirty percent of his skills. ch. 1806

In Heavenly Court, Fairy Zi Wei, pale and somewhat dazed, receives the battle information with deep disbelief. The two greatest sources of battle strength she relied on, only rank seven yet outstanding among their peers, are eliminated so soon. She judges the warship’s methods limited, with speed from the river water and physical toughness as its strengths. Its simple collisions succeeded because Fang Yuan instantly destroyed both houses’ methods, especially their defenses. She stands, cold sweat on her forehead, and says Fang Yuan has truly been reborn, with an extremely deep understanding of both houses. As Fang Yuan expected, she is now certain. ch. 1806

She asks what to do, since his rank eight house can move around the River of Time while her three Immortal Gu Houses are still under construction. She wonders whether to halt the construction, as he is probably familiar with them, and whether switching would come too late. She is sure he went into the River of Time for Red Lotus’ true inheritances, and his success would be extremely bad, much worse than the defeat in Lang Ya blessed land. The ever resourceful Fairy Zi Wei is at a loss. ch. 1806
