Chapter 1103

Lu Qing Ming looks down over Hei tribe’s wheat field and calls it huge and majestic, with Su Guang, a light path Gu Immortal, beside him. The field grows golden wheat as a metal called metal essence, a huge source of Hei tribe’s revenue, and both agree it is worth taking. They have spoken aloud only to draw out any hidden rivals. Guan Shen Zhao from Guan tribe appears and claims the field for his own tribe, warning the pair, whom he names the Traveling Three Elites, that after Han Dong’s death forcing the issue now would wipe them out. Su Guang answers that righteous and demonic path must fight it out, and the three clash in the sky. ^{ch. 1103}

Elsewhere, an old, bottom tier rank six Gu Immortal flies his teenage grandson toward Gushing Spring Forest, a Hei tribe territory holding water pillars from underground geysers and countless water and earth path Gu. He means to gather resources there for the boy, a water path cultivator, reasoning that Hei tribe’s own Gu Immortals withdrew to their headquarters more than ten days earlier, leaving the forest unwatched. Stronger rivals, he tells his grandson, would not bother with a territory this far below the prizes near the neighboring super forces or Hei tribe’s own headquarters. They arrive to find it already ravaged, nearly ten Gu Immortals fighting inside it. ^{ch. 1103}

At a third site, three Guan tribe Gu Immortals stand off against two from Liu tribe over a plain hiding a fragment of immemorial red heaven, the leaders of both sides talking warmly. Guan Shen Zhao presses Guan tribe’s third supreme elder to strike while they hold the advantage. The elder scolds him as foolish. Guan Shen Zhao’s own rash attack days before had already cost Guan tribe the golden wheat field. Guan tribe and Liu tribe each hold about half the local advantage, the elder explains, which leaves the two tribes as the open contenders, and a rash attack would let outsiders steal the prize. Guan Shen Zhao shows shame and grants that he was too rash. ^{ch. 1103}

In Eastern Sea, on an island in the turbulent flow sea area, Ying Wu Xie, still posing as Fang Yuan, leads Hei Lou Lan, Tai Bai Yun Sheng, and Shi Nu to a secret base. Tai Bai Yun Sheng alone does not know the deception. An arrangement carries them below ground to a hollow holding a five floored palace, whose doors open on their own, recognizing Ying Wu Xie as its owner. Shi Nu and Tai Bai Yun Sheng find many Immortal Gu inside; Hei Lou Lan had not known an Immortal Gu House existed here. ^{ch. 1103}

Ying Wu Xie explains that the turbulent flow sea area holds a tributary of the River of Time, making the site, though neither a blessed land nor a grotto-heaven, a rare place to store treasure. Shadow Sect dug the island out long ago to place an Immortal Gu House here, drawing on the river so that, once in a while, the Immortal Gu inside refine themselves further. Tai Bai Yun Sheng guesses aloud that this must be the legendary Regret Pool. Ying Wu Xie confirms it is most of Regret Pool, holding its refining power but weak in attack and defense, and impossible to move once placed. Tai Bai Yun Sheng names Heavenly Pool, Regret Pool, and Wine Pool as the three great pools famous through the five regions’ history. ^{ch. 1103}

Hei Lou Lan asks how a single Immortal Gu House can refine so many Immortal Gu, since refining Gu is extremely difficult. Ying Wu Xie answers that Regret Pool is a time path Immortal Gu House. A Gu refined successfully here by Shadow Sect’s own immortals leaves an insignia behind, and when that Gu is later destroyed, the pool uses the tributary and the insignia to refine it again, at about fifty to sixty percent success. Hei Lou Lan is shocked at how high that chance is. The flaw: success consumes the insignia, which Gu Immortals must replenish themselves, and without this hidden tributary the effect could hardly be activated.
