Chapter 408

Fang Yuan wakes in an extremely large round bed, big enough for forty to fifty people, in a room of golden brick walls and silver brick floors set with gems. It is Hu Immortal’s Dang Hun Palace. His body shakes and his head is dizzy, the price of forcing himself too hard on San Cha mountain. There he faced Bai Ning Bing’s betrayal and pressure from two factions, schemed against the land spirit, and refined second aperture and Fixed Immortal Travel Gu. Spring Autumn Cicada can no longer be used, and snatching the inheritance before the ten sects’ Gu Immortals was an extremely dangerous move. He had climbed first, the land spirit chased the other competitors away, and as owner he ordered the blessed land closed before falling asleep. ^{ch. 408}

Now he still feels extremely tired, with weakness in his soul. The Immortal Gu refinement injured it, since the foundation was too weak, but he is thankful to be on Dang Hun mountain. A good recipe from Ren Zu’s tales and materials focused on divine travel Gu made the refinement simply a conversion, unlike refining Spring Autumn Cicada from mortal Gu in his previous life, a hundred times harder. The land spirit appears at his call as a five to six year old girl with a snow-white fox tail. She reports that she healed his left arm, that the clothes here do not fit him, and that nobody attacked during his seven days of sleep. ^{ch. 408}

Fang Yuan does not know that Immortal Crane Sect’s He Feng Yang defended him against the other nine sects. He understands somewhat why no Gu Immortal attacked. The blessed land is still very young, with a land spirit, ample immortal essence and Dang Hun mountain as core protection. In his previous life, five hundred years in, he allied with almost ten demonic Gu Immortals to invade it and won narrowly. ^{ch. 408}

Only he and Song Zhong survived. Song Zhong, the not yet born son of Song Zi Xing, fought him tens of rounds without a winner and rose to fame. Fang Yuan snickers at having been that junior’s stepping stone and means to kill Song Zi Xing so Song Zhong never comes into the world. Song Zi Xing holds the violent blood dragon bat, an ancient desolate beast that is not a Gu worm and can be captured; taking it would give Fang Yuan endless blood bats. That is for later; for now he must use the blessed land to cultivate quickly back to Gu Immortal. ^{ch. 408}

The land spirit reports that the sixth earthly calamity is a year and three months away. Hu Immortal died in the fifth, and each calamity is stronger than the last. Feng Jin Huang’s biography skipped this worry because her parents are Gu Immortals, but for him it is grave. ^{ch. 408}

He is sure the ten sects are waiting to pounce on him. He suspects they mean to use the calamity. During the calamity the land spirit cannot protect him, and rank four upper stage Fang Yuan is an easy target whose death would leave the blessed land ownerless. A huge loophole would also let outside Gu Masters enter at will, and if the ten sects strike then, the situation would certainly turn deadly. He decides to prepare, and if he fails, to make the blessed land self-destruct and escape with Fixed Immortal Travel Gu. ^{ch. 408}

The land spirit asks if he dislikes clothes, but he changes into a black robe stored in the tusita flower. She leads him up to the peak of Dang Hun mountain and calms its very strong winds into a breeze. The blessed land has 4000km2, time flows five times faster, and the land is mostly grassland of blue degree grass, water chestnut grass, six divine grass, seven treasure flowers and milk tea flowers. These plants are Gu refinement ingredients, and some hold wild Gu worms. The wild Gu worms are extremely easy to catch, and on his command the land spirit can hand them over intact. ^{ch. 408}
