Chapter 1608

Holding the Southern Border immortals gives Fang Yuan firm hold of the initiative, but he cautiously extorts only three clans at first. Xia clan is the main target, since Xia Cha, its only rank eight Gu Immortal, is extremely important. Yi clan is second, because its captive Yi Yang is its strongest rank seven expert and a blood relative whom the first supreme elder nurtures as successor. In Fang Yuan’s first life, the first supreme elder paid an enormous price to recover Yi Yang from Shang clan. Chi clan, whose captive holds the very important post of second supreme elder, is third. He passes over Wu clan and Tie clan. Once these three give in, the others will find it harder to stand tough. ^{ch. 1608}

In Mini Green Heaven, Great Thief Ghost Hand takes a rank seven Immortal Gu from Yi Yang’s immortal aperture. Fang Yuan has already looted a huge amount of Immortal Gu, among them Xia Cha’s two rank eight Immortal Gu, Spring and Summer. He refines them in a completely new version of wisdom refinement formation, and rank nine Wisdom Gu makes suppressing the rank seven Immortal Gu truly easy. The newly refined Gu is Space Travel, a space path Immortal Gu of remarkable movement ability, and he stores it. By now he has stolen most of the captives’ Immortal Gu. ^{ch. 1608}

Xia clan’s one million immortal essence stones end his shortage of immortal essence. When nothing more can be taken from Yi Yang, he throws him back into the dream realm and drags out Chi clan’s second supreme elder, an earth path rank seven Gu Immortal. He must release some captives, or no one would believe him as a seller. He means to free Chi clan’s second supreme elder and Yi Yang first. He will extort both clans to the limit. ^{ch. 1608}

Several days later Yi clan pays its first ransom of one million and two hundred thousand immortal essence stones. Fang Yuan asked for stones first because he was short of them and a super force, holding around one million, can pay with small difficulty. He means to make each clan give in first. Then he will extort it harder, bleeding it little by little. ^{ch. 1608}

Heavenly Court has not responded to the captures, and Fang Yuan wonders what it has prepared in the River of Time. He built years flow execution formation mainly against the Southern Border immortals, but also to lure Heavenly Court into attacking. He sees no ambush. The scheme is fruitless in this regard, leaving him with more wariness and suspicion. ^{ch. 1608}
