A tall stranger catches the exploding cold air as an ice sphere in his hand before it can harm her, and tells her that ice refinement does not suit her active nature, that she is instead suited to metal and fire refinement. Coral-like dragon horns sit on his forehead, and he identifies himself as Heavenly Court’s Gu Immortal Duke Long, the man who defeated Spectral Soul. Duke Long tells her he knows her parents but has come specifically for her. He says she is destined to become Great Dream Immortal Venerable, chosen as a child when a dream path Immortal Gu marked her, and that he has come to take her as disciple toward a rank nine venerable throne. She objects that only ten people have become Gu Venerables since ancient times, and that she knows the Great Dream Immortal Venerable prophecy but cannot see herself in it. He explains that otherworldly demons unbound by fate stole her fortuitous encounters, including Hu Immortal blessed land and the current fairy position of Spirit Affinity House. None of that matters, he says, and fate Immortal Gu will be completely restored in ten years. He insists she will definitely become Great Dream Immortal Venerable, because fate has predestined it.
