Chapter 662

Land spirit looks on heartbroken: his swamp crab lies flat, its legs nearly all torn apart and one great pincer shattered. Fang Yuan, penniless since northern plains, already knew his zombie body alone could not threaten the armored crab. Wary of what land spirit might blurt out next, the inkman Gu Immortal introduces himself as Mo Tan Sang, ruler of inkman city and king of northern plains’ inkmen. Inkmen hold the most favorable standing among variant humans in northern plains, and have built their own city of three inkman Gu Immortals. Fang Yuan recognizes the name from his previous life. There, the Inkman King greatly expanded the inkman forces unnoticed, took a servant’s rite to Liu tribe’s supreme elder once northern plains’ humans moved against him, then abandoned Liu tribe for Ma Hong Yun once it weakened. He invites Fang Yuan to visit inkman city anytime. Land spirit grumbles that he is no friend of this rascal, but is secretly pleased and his anger cools. He shouts in fury, then grins with relief: of seventeen or eighteen layers of qi path seal binding him, the Inkman King has lifted only the first, so he cannot refine anything now. Bored since his sealing, he finds the loophole wonderful and blames it on Fang Yuan. The Inkman King warns that a failed attempt would hand a costly recipe’s contents to Fang Yuan for nothing.
