Soul Path Gu Immortal Gui Wang
Gui Wang, a rank six soul path Gu Immortal, delivers three million five hundred thousand lava bats he promised to fellow rank six Loner Hong Yu at the entrance to Hong Yu blessed land. In exchange, Loner Hong Yu agrees to join Gui Wang in raiding Lang Ya blessed land a month later, though he worries the two of them alone will not be enough against Lang Ya’s land spirit. Gui Wang answers that he has already secured the Hua Hai three immortals, whose interest in Lang Ya’s recipes outweighs their nominal righteous path. ch. 446
Flying north over poison grassland, Gui Wang senses the aura of a genuine Immortal Gu and grows excited: fifty years into life as a Gu Immortal, he still owns none. Tracking the trail to a field of ghost face sunflowers, he calls it a small appetiser beside the Immortal Gu itself, lets his dark cloud devour the whole field, and scoops up the scattering ghost face and ghost cry Gu with his nether ghost claw, leaving only a crater behind. ch. 446
The aura keeps weakening and shifting, and Gui Wang follows it over earth spike rat territory, noting that a mortal Gu Master crossed here on some flying Gu. He unleashes his rank five hundred ghost night travel Gu and volleys of ghost face Gu on a swarm of shadow crows, killing hundreds to thousands of them while earth spike rats scavenging the corpses strike at him with their spikes, turned aside by the black light guarding his body, and surviving crows claw at him as he flies on unfazed. A single bead of green grape immortal essence, he reflects, can dilute into enough primeval essence to fuel a blessed land for tens of years or even a hundred, so unlike a rank five Gu Master he never runs short under constant attack. After thousands of shadow crows die, the survivors flee and he lets them go. ch. 446
He reaches the spot where Fang Yuan once used dusty Gu on bright pearl Gu and finds the aura thinned again. Ruling out a mortal sealing an Immortal Gu, he guesses instead that it is heavily injured, on the verge of death, and presses on with another rank five Gu to speed himself along. Twenty minutes later he reaches the battlefield where Chang Shan Yin and Ha Tu Gu fought to the death, where Fang Yuan had used dark toss Gu to suppress the aura again, leaving it now almost indiscernible. A sweep with his own investigative Gu turns up nothing. Patience exhausted, he swears to find the Immortal Gu whether it is alive or dead, and flies on. ch. 446
At the banquet, Fang Yuan and Man Tu grow close over wine, and Fang Yuan asks him to mend ties with Ge tribe. Man Tu voices reluctance, citing Hong Yan valley’s small size and the broken wedding promise. Privately, he still means to absorb Ge tribe and does not believe Ge Yao is truly dead, suspecting the tribe invented her death once it saw through his design. ch. 446
