Chapter 636

Fang Yuan hesitates between saving Tai Bai Yun Sheng and retaking Man as Before. Now an Immortal Gu, Man as Before can heal a Gu Immortal, and its value far surpasses ordinary Immortal Gu. Tai Bai Yun Sheng urged the retaking out of anxiety, without truly considering the consequences. If Fang Yuan abandoned him, he would fall gravely injured and, with his life at risk, doubt the junior brother who left him. ^{ch. 636}

Fixed Immortal Travel is lost, and a stargate out of the contracting veil needs starlight firefly Gu, which would draw the formless hands. No new formless hands can appear now that the veil has formed, and with Eighty-Eight True Yang Building breaking into Gu worms, the existing ones have no energy source and will fade. Giant Sun’s will, with Giant Sun’s immortal essence and many Immortal Gu, would then be the strongest foe and come after Fang Yuan. As the weaker party he must cooperate. Only Tai Bai Yun Sheng, a Gu Immortal to whom he can lend Gu worms, is suitable, for Hei Lou Lan and the other blood related descendants would not switch sides. ^{ch. 636}

Fang Yuan flies without hesitation toward the falling Tai Bai Yun Sheng, who is touched and sighs. Hei Lou Lan appears beside Tai Bai Yun Sheng, grabs him by the collar and seals his four limbs with a Gu worm, making him faint. The capture is easy, as Tai Bai Yun Sheng has no Gu worms left. Overjoyed, Hei Lou Lan plans to use the captive to threaten Fang Yuan into returning his vital Gu. ^{ch. 636}

Fang Yuan guesses Hei Lou Lan’s aim at once and flies high. He reasons that Tai Bai Yun Sheng is safe for now. After fifteen minutes of dodging formless hands, he smashes the formless fist with great difficulty and takes back Man as Before. It does not struggle because Tai Bai Yun Sheng trusts him, and he places it in his strength path immortal aperture. ^{ch. 636}

Hei Lou Lan catches up, burdened with his captive, and demands the Gu worm back on pain of the captive’s life. Fang Yuan lacks Tai Bai Yun Sheng’s permission to use Man as Before, and reviving him after death would cost at least ten of his twenty-one green grape immortal essence. He will not pay that unless there is no choice. He suppresses the thought of returning the Gu worm, since Hei Lou Lan is not trustworthy. ^{ch. 636}

Meanwhile Giant Sun’s will, battling the formless hands, regains control of the luck path true inheritance, which exists in only one copy. Six luck path Immortal Gu have been taken by the formless hands; the will retrieves three by breaking the formless fists and watches the other three carried away. Furious, it hates Zhao Lian Yun to the depths of its soul and no longer cares about Ma Hong Yun’s life. Ma and Zhao hug each other and await death. The Frost Jade Peacock that recognised them as master has died, and the light lump is under a third of its original size. ^{ch. 636}

Fang Yuan and Hei Lou Lan, at a stalemate, bargain very slowly out of distrust. Then a crisp blade sound from outside the veil makes everyone look up, and even the dragon of Giant Sun’s will stops attacking. A huge opening made by a blade shows the sky of northern plains, where three Chanyu tribe Gu Immortals breathe roughly after activating the immortal killer move Winged Blade. A dozen or so other Gu Immortals surround them. Other righteous path Gu Immortals had approached the three, and with Hei tribe’s Gu Immortals showing real sincerity, the sides agreed quickly and attacked earlier than expected. ^{ch. 636}

The opening connects the inside and outside worlds. Eighty-Eight True Yang Building, destroyed by heavenly tribulations and earthly calamities, has collapsed into a large number of wild Gu worms. These fly instinctively toward the opening, and formless hands capture them everywhere. The Gu Masters see a chance to charge through the veil and escape, and the northern plains Gu Immortals watch the Gu worms with burning eyes. ^{ch. 636}
