Chapter 364

Word of the battle spreads instantly: little beast king fought seven Tie clansmen and won, and even “present age overlord” Tie Ba Xiu lost his life, crowning him this generation’s foremost rising star of the demonic path. Tie clan’s four old timers attack Fang Yuan one after another, and he evades so lightly on his wings that the watching crowd gasps. Bai Ning Bing walks over, grim faced, saying she has not yet settled her score with the elders for trapping her, and studies Fang Yuan with feelings she keeps to herself. In the days of her captivity he has advanced to middle stage and mastered flight, and she cannot work out how, since she once weighed training to fly herself and abandoned it as too costly in time for too little gain. She wonders privately whether he had some mystical encounter inside three kings inheritance, and reflects that many others will draw the same conclusion without needing to be told. ^{ch. 364}

With the elders’ iron cabinet Gu revoked, Bai Ning Bing stands free, and the pair together turn the standoff dangerous for the four old timers, who fall back to guard Tie Ruo Nan’s sealed cabinet at their center. Fang Yuan is unresigned at having failed to take Tie Ruo Nan’s life, but reasons that without her as leverage he could not have killed Tie Ba Xiu so cleanly, and lets the matter go. His own primeval essence is running low after the fighting, while the four elders stand at full strength, and too many onlookers, Li Xian among them, are watching for a chance to profit from a longer battle. Deciding to end it, Fang Yuan calls out that his partner killed one Tie clansman and was held prisoner ever since, while he has killed six, and demands to know how much longer they mean to hold him. ^{ch. 364}

The head elder swears in fury that Tie clan will spend his life and any price to see Fang Yuan caged in Demon Suppression Tower, yet does not act, wary of Fang Yuan’s shown strength and of Bai Ning Bing beside him. Fang Yuan laughs, declares Tie clan his sworn enemy in return, vows to kill any Tie clansman he crosses one for one, and leaves under the disappointed stares of onlookers who had hoped for more. News of the fight races across San Cha mountain and then all of Southern Border, and Fang Yuan’s reputation soars. In Yan clan, young master Yan Jun can hardly believe the report; his subordinate explains that this little beast king, Fang Zheng, is only around twenty years old and a demonic path genius who rose to fame only recently. Refinement path Gu Master Feng Tian Yu, hearing that the rumored source of the boy’s sudden growth is three kings inheritance, feels a pull to head for San Cha mountain himself, since King Xin Inheritance would suit a refinement path master like him perfectly. Shang clan’s Elder Yi Huo, one of its five great experts, whose own battle prowess equals Tie Ba Xiu’s, is startled that Fang Yuan could kill him at all, until he learns Fang Yuan has mastered flight; Yi Huo knows firsthand what flight is worth in a fight, since his own clansman Wei Yang, a mere rank three peak stage cultivator nicknamed light swordsman, once outclassed him so badly in a challenge that he could do nothing at all. Yi Huo had come to San Cha mountain hoping to earn enough merit to become a full clansman of Shang clan and advance toward rank five himself. Recruiting little beast king now would cost Shang clan a war with Tie clan, so Yi Huo lets the thought go. ^{ch. 364}

Li Xian and Hu Mei Er piece together everything they know: Fang Yuan’s profits at Shang clan city, his delay in rescuing Bai Ning Bing, and every gain he has brought back from the inheritance each time, and conclude he holds some secret of three kings inheritance. The narration confirms the two have guessed correctly, though what truly gives Fang Yuan his knowledge, a previous life’s memory, stays hidden from them. Hu Mei Er’s wish to charm him into her sexual slave only grows more appealing at the thought, and rather than confront him directly, the two agree to leak what they know and let others be provoked into moving against him instead. ^{ch. 364}
