Chapter 950

Xu Hao and Li Jun Ying become almost certain that Feng Jiu Ge is trapped inside the Thieving Heaven inheritance. Zhao Lian Yun, unaware, stays quiet. The couple secretly agree to suppress the news, wanting Feng Jiu Ge dead rather than rescued. After stalling three days, they report it, and Spirit Affinity House sends a rescue party with Zhao Lian Yun to Northern Plains. ^{ch. 950}

Fang Yuan stumbles from a secret room. He has failed again refining star thought Immortal Gu, this time with untampered materials, in Zombie Alliance’s own formation, lacking one of his own. It went smoothly until the final steps, when an intense explosion destroyed both formation and room and left him injured. At those final steps the dao marks shift uncontrollably, he reasons, so success comes down purely to luck. ^{ch. 950}

Refining Immortal Gu is too hard, its success rate too low, so he turns to Lang Ya land spirit for help, even at a huge price. Long Hair Ancestor was once called the greatest refinement path immortal of all time. Though he has since died, his land spirit lives on, and Lang Ya blessed land remains intact. ^{ch. 950}

Fairy Li Shan comes to him and suggests he try a strength path Immortal Gu instead. She can no longer stay in Snowy Mountain blessed land. She has lived in Dark Flow Giant City since they killed Hei Cheng, her tie to Blazing Heaven Demoness now known to all. ^{ch. 950}

Blazing Heaven Demoness struck Snowy Mountain’s demonic path Gu Immortals with striking success; the true reason was Fairy Li Shan, secretly feeding her intelligence. As an information path quasi-great grandmaster, she could skirt Snowy Mountain’s own agreement to aid Blazing Heaven Demoness, suffering only mild injury for the breach. Xue Hu publicly expelled her, naming her Snowy Mountain’s enemy. Zombie Alliance welcomed her instead; her tie to Blazing Heaven Demoness, and her part in forcing Xue Hu to yield, left her very well respected among its immortal zombies. ^{ch. 950}

Her sister’s funding might now be delayed, she says, since the situation has shifted. Blazing Heaven Demoness and Old Ancestor Xue Hu’s quick, peaceful truce had already drawn huge attention across Northern Plains. ^{ch. 950}

As that conflict ended, Zombie Alliance’s headquarters issued a mandatory mission. Every Northern Plains member must now pool resources into a giant Gu formation to guard the immortal zombie graveyard against any renewed theft. If it cannot hold, the formation teleports the bodies out of Northern Plains. All four branches and headquarters build it together, using thirteen Immortal Gu here alone plus countless mortal Gu. The headquarters supplies most Immortal Gu, but the branch must refine some itself, recalling every immortal zombie. ^{ch. 950}

With storage short, members spend their own resources for contribution points well above the ordinary, in one of Zombie Alliance’s biggest actions in a thousand years. Blazing Heaven Demoness, caught up in the effort, can no longer fund Fang Yuan. His refining plan stalls, and he can no longer use the secret room; his Zombie Alliance agreement was already rescinded at his own request, which she as branch leader could do. ^{ch. 950}

Both Fang Yuan and Fairy Li Shan remain outsiders here, though she is better regarded. This same plan arose once before, within his previous life’s next five hundred years, and succeeded, though a different cause set it off. The course of history does not alter easily, he judges. He cannot stop them, of course. Zombie Alliance is a huge force, and even Blazing Heaven Demoness, only a branch leader, already holds him firmly. Without his immense value to her, he might already be dead. But Fang Yuan will not give up his compensation, and asks Fairy Li Shan whether her sister’s action breaks their agreement. ^{ch. 950}

It does, Fairy Li Shan admits with a bitter smile. Blazing Heaven Demoness owes him a sizable sum unless he forgoes the claim, and refusing would bring the agreement’s backlash down to injure her heavily.
