Chapter 623

Fang Yuan and Tai Bai Yun Sheng move through the true inheritance secluded domain, now stripped of the order it had while Giant Sun’s will still ruled it. With that will fully withdrawn, the dozens of true inheritances inside have become ownerless, each growing its own wild will within a short time and flying like shooting stars that weave a net of trails. One flies close by. A true inheritance the size of a bowl, giving off a dazzling silvery light, nearly grazes Fang Yuan as it passes, lighting both of their faces. Tai Bai Yun Sheng, his defense Gu nearly spent, urges retreat. Fang Yuan reflects that his ally has grown only more cowardly with age, willing to heal others but unwilling to risk himself. Before he can spur Tai Bai Yun Sheng on, Mo Yao’s will spots the target directly above them. The supreme true inheritance is the size of an adult person, glowing orange red and moving slowly, and the other true inheritances swerve to avoid it on approach. He is furious rather than grateful, complaining to himself that Tai Bai Yun Sheng’s ascension, the blizzard tearing into Imperial Court blessed land, and now Eighty-Eight True Yang Building’s activated rounds have left him wishing he had never entered the last Imperial Court contest. Ma Ying Jie, Luo Bo Jun and Gu Guo Long are among the survivors. All are northern plains Gu Masters who had entered Imperial Court blessed land, kept in the dark about what is actually happening. ^{ch. 623}

Once the blizzard tore through the holes ripped in Imperial Court blessed land, it killed nearly all the mortals inside and left large numbers of low rank Gu Masters dead or hurt. Giant Sun’s will still found time, despite the crisis, to save some of its blood related descendants and place them inside the golden leopard round. That protection ended. Fang Yuan’s final trump card had sent Giant Sun’s will temporarily out of Eighty-Eight True Yang Building. Outside, Giant Sun’s will covers the tower like a layer of golden sand armor while the fused heavenly tribulation and earthly calamity wraps both in a pure white cocoon. A trident shaped bolt called snow war tribulation lightning, one of the ten publicly recognized catastrophes, strikes the will and destroys countless of its thoughts, though its Immortal Venerable origin lets it repair the wound quickly. Other attacks follow: needle rain, thunder hail, and wind scythes. These formed only when Tai Bai Yun Sheng’s own ascension tribulation, chaotic lightning balls and restraining smoke, fused with the once in ten years blizzard. Suffering great losses against the combined assault, Giant Sun’s will swears to tear Fang Yuan’s tendons out and grind him to ashes for expelling it and keeping it outside. ^{ch. 623}

Inside the tower, a smaller portion of Giant Sun’s will still controls the treemen round and works to push the luck path true inheritance back into the secluded domain. He tells Hei Lou Lan to be gentle. Losing the only record of this inheritance that Giant Sun Immortal Venerable ever left behind would be irrecoverable, which is exactly why Ma Hong Yun and Zhao Lian Yun, sheltering inside it, have survived this long. Hei Lou Lan unleashes fifty strength path phantoms. Hei Lou Lan bows in greeting, and the fused will, described as shining like a small sun, is about to praise him when it instead shouts in fury that intruders have dared to refine its Eighty-Eight True Yang Building.
