Admitting Defea

Dragon Palace sits in Gu tribe’s blessed land in Eastern Sea, a rank eight enslavement path Immortal Gu House whose dream path Immortal Gu keeps dream realms from corroding it. Wu Shuai, Fang Yuan’s clone, sits with his eyes shut while his soul explores one. Inside he is a clinic disciple, and the old doctor takes a young man’s pulse through a healing Gu worm. The young man recalls that heaven, earth and humans each have veins, and the doctor agrees that taking the pulse uses a human vein. The doctor diagnoses kidney deficiency from a phantom path attack in a fight and prescribes a month of medicine without bedroom activities. The young man accepts. ch. 1980

The dream gives Wu Shuai the true meaning of phantom path and human path. Fang Yuan’s main body is a grandmaster in human path but only ordinary in phantom path, whose profundity it could not deduce even with wisdom Gu and the corpses of Heavenly Court Gu Immortals with phantom apertures. After the fate war, the dream realms Fang Yuan took from Yi Tian Mountain went to Wu Shuai, and a large amount remains. Since leaving Heavenly Court, Wu Shuai has kept to closed cultivation in Gu tribe’s blessed land. The exploration gains little human path attainment, which stays at grandmaster, but it should help the main body somewhat. ch. 1980

Gu tribe’s leader sends an information path mortal Gu with word that Ice Crystal Immortal Monarch, a rank eight snowman Gu Immortal, is finding problems with the Merman Imperial Court. The three mermaids promise rewards if Wu Shuai forces him away, and the leader politely adds his request. Wu Shuai agrees. From Fang Yuan’s memories he knows the previous life saw qi tides too once the regional walls were gone, with the five regions’ Gu Immortals recuperating while the two heavens’ forces acted arrogantly. He sees dealing with these grotto-heaven forces as a great opportunity for the main body’s plans. ch. 1980

At the banquet the atmosphere is very grim, and the monarch asks whom they will send for the final round. The mermaids receive a letter, their faces glow, and they say they have invited someone. Wu Shuai walks in. The monarch is shocked, since Wu Shuai was a star of the fate war, and he sees little hope of winning. Asked where Fang Yuan is, Wu Shuai says he revived with Fang Yuan’s help and they merely worked together against Heavenly Court. When the monarch says that Wu Shuai, at rank seven, has a very arrogant tone, Wu Shuai answers that he comes from Red Lotus Demon Venerable’s era and died of old age before the monarch’s grandfather was born. ch. 1980

Wu Shuai sends Dragon Palace at the monarch without warning, and the monarch, who is not a transformation path great expert, dodges it. Dragon Palace expands and blows the merman hall apart, throwing the mermaids and the monarch out. When the monarch protests that a senior should not rely on the Immortal Gu House, Wu Shuai releases Di Zang Sheng, the Evil Dragon, whose roar raises colossal waves and whose tail flattens several mountains and valleys. The monarch feels very insignificant, calls Wu Shuai very powerful and admits defeat. Nobody finds this strange, since the Evil Dragon alone, even without Dragon Palace, could kill both of Heavenly Court’s transformation path experts and survive countless Gu Immortals. In the fate war Di Zang Sheng lost only to Feng Jiu Ge and Duke Long. ch. 1980

Wu Shuai stores Di Zang Sheng and Dragon Palace and says they will talk about the alliance next. The mermaids are shocked, and he asks in displeasure whether they still think they can isolate themselves. They do not dare to rebuke him. The monarch, overjoyed at the turn of events, stammers a question. Wu Shuai pats his shoulder and tells him to come and talk in the hall. ch. 1980
