Chapter 1742

Duke Long caresses fate Gu inside Heaven Overseeing Tower, tears flowing down his face. The scarlet wound that Red Lotus Demon Venerable cut into it has vanished, and the complete and intact Gu lies quiet with a vigorous aura. To Heavenly Court it is the spirit and banner of its Gu Immortals across countless generations. For Duke Long it means more, because his proudest disciple was the one who injured it. He blamed himself for years, and to repair fate Gu he staked his own life on heavenly dragon’s last stand. ^{ch. 1742}

Now his dragon horns are broken, his body is bathed in blood, and his lifespan is at its end. He is about to die completely without leaving a trace of his soul. Yet it is absolutely his most free and relaxed moment. Extremely tired, he really wants to rest, and he turns from fate Gu to the battlefield, where Calamity Luck Altar has already retreated far away. Declaring that Longevity Heaven will not leave so easily, he flies Heaven Overseeing Tower into the air as a genuine rank nine Immortal Gu House again. ^{ch. 1742}

Bing Sai Chuan orders a retreat, but Duke Long calls it pointless and has the Tower unleash Fate Vanquish, a rank nine killer move decreed by fate that cannot be dodged. When the white light fades, the Heavenly Court immortals still stand, the past experts of Northern Plains disintegrate, and the phantom River of Time disappears. Bing Sai Chuan, Bull Demon and Five Elements Grandmaster are heavily injured inside the ruined Calamity Luck Altar. It escapes into yellow light, a retreat road that Giant Sun Immortal Venerable had prepared as a backup plan. Mao Li Qiu blocks the pursuers with its dying body. ^{ch. 1742}

Duke Long calls his immortals back to preserve some foundation for Heavenly Court. Heavenly Court suffered disastrous losses in the battle, since lacking Immortal Gu many rank eight Gu Immortals blocked Longevity Heaven’s attacks with their own bodies and were sacrificed. Star Constellation’s will had told him to keep many rank eight Gu Immortals hibernating, yet many were lost, and he stays uneasy despite the repair. Most return to the immortal graveyard, while a few near the end of their lifespans stay. Duke Long leaves Fairy Zi Wei and others to guard Heavenly Court and leads a small group in the Tower after Longevity Heaven, intending to kill or capture them. ^{ch. 1742}

News spreads that Longevity Heaven is fleeing in defeat and that fate Gu is completely repaired. The battle in Infallible blessed land changes completely, and Southern Border and Northern Plains immortals turn toward retreat, Fang Yuan included. Fang Yuan feels a huge pity but can do nothing. Then devastated Calamity Luck Altar arrives with Heavenly Court forces chasing close behind. Giant Sun Immortal Venerable had made Longevity Heaven’s retreat route above Hairy Foot Mountain, and nobody had discovered it. Duke Long laughs and says he will take them all out at once. ^{ch. 1742}
