Plunder Gu

It is a black beetle. At a normal size, its head has a pair of metal antenna, and its back has white spots. ^{ch. 138}

In the aperture it soars as a black beetle with a pair of iron pincers on its head. ^{ch. 202}

Early wolf-tide chapters show the Gu in the user’s palm during activation but do not name its Rank or describe a resting insect form. ^{ch. 132}

The copy Bai Ning Bing throws is a black beetle that, at a normal size, has a pair of metal antenna on its head and white spots on its back. ^{ch. 138} The same copy later appears in Fang Yuan’s aperture as a black beetle with a pair of iron pincers on its head soaring above the primeval sea. ^{ch. 202} Cited chapters never settle those two head-feature wordings into one label.

Xiong Jiang says that on Qing Mao Mountain only his cousin Xiong Zhan has this Gu. ^{ch. 135} After Xiong Zhan dies failing a plunder on the bold lightning wolf, Bai Ning Bing takes the Plunder Gu from the corpse and later admits collecting it because the use looked interesting. ^{ch. 132 ch. 135}

Bai Ning Bing spends days trying to refine it without success; the Gu still carries Xiong Zhan’s will and hates Bai Ning Bing more because of that death. During the chase, Bai Ning Bing throws the Gu. Fang Yuan catches it, and Spring Autumn Cicada aura lets him refine it at once and keep it in his aperture. ^{ch. 138}

Plunder Gu is a rank two Gu, and that rank is why it cannot plunder Bai Ning Bing’s rank three Blue bird ice coffin Gu even when the user wills it. ^{ch. 143}

Each use spends a large amount of primeval essence. Cost scales with how strong the target Gu is and how hard the steal is. If the plunder fails, the Gu Master faces backlash. Fang Yuan treats it as rather unreliable, with little usage. ^{ch. 143}

While Gu Yue Qing Shu and Bai Ning Bing are dying on the mountain path, Fang Yuan activates Plunder Gu and takes a red steel Relic Gu, then a Stone Aperture Gu, then Water Shield Gu from Bai Ning Bing. Plundering is easy because Bai Ning Bing is almost unconscious. ^{ch. 143}

Later, while still on Qing Mao Mountain, Fang Yuan lists Plunder Gu among the Gu worms he already carries, together with White Jade Gu, Moonglow Gu, Water Shield Gu, and Earth Communication Ear Grass. ^{ch. 148}

Plunder Gu’s food is difficult to find. The store Fang Yuan kept for it in the tusita flower could last only five months. ^{ch. 202} Cited chapters never name that food.

Against Gu Masters, one Plunder Gu has little effect and needs harsh conditions to succeed. Against wild beasts the same Gu is still workable. ^{ch. 210} He later uses it to pull three Gu out of a dead demonic Gu Master’s aperture after Bai Ning Bing kills her. ^{ch. 211}

In Shang clan city, Bai Ning Bing considers forcing an unbreakable agreement with poison vow Gu, and also names plunder Gu, seize Gu, and petty thief Gu among options for stealing Yang Gu from Fang Yuan. ^{ch. 260}

By the Shang clan city stretch, Fang Yuan notes that the Plunder Gu that resembled a black beetle, which he had used to snatch Gu from Bai Ning Bing’s aperture, had died from lack of food during the caravan journey. ^{ch. 273}
