Chapter 746

A few days later, Tai Bai Yun Sheng returns to Hu Immortal blessed land, and Fang Yuan reads joy in his face. Fang Yuan doubts the trip went well, and asks if they took Yu Lu blessed land. Tai Bai Yun Sheng admits he was right. The group attacked the blessed land for seven days and nights, was defeated by the land spirit, and suffered huge losses, and a Gu Immortal nearly died before Tai Bai Yun Sheng saved him with Man as Before Immortal Gu. ^{ch. 746}

Exposing Man as Before greatly raises his standing, and Shark Demon invites him to Eastern Sea Zombie Alliance as a guest. He refuses to enter alone. Shark Demon and two other immortal zombies host him at Hai Shi blessed land instead, where he learns of a method to free Fang Yuan from his zombie body. Shark Demon’s wife, Su Bai Man, an immortal zombie herself, had obtained Time Anchor by forcing back strong foes. Time Anchor can mark the river of time, useless alone but incredible when paired with another time path Immortal Gu. ^{ch. 746}

Time Anchor, paired with Landscape as Before, restores a mountain or river to an earlier period. Paired with Man as Before, it could in theory return a person to an earlier bodily state, once marked in advance. Man as Before alone reaches back only an instant. Time Anchor could let Fang Yuan exceed that limit and shed his zombie status. Fang Yuan guesses Shark Demon wants Man as Before contributed to their killer move research, which Tai Bai Yun Sheng confirms. ^{ch. 746}

Fang Yuan calls it a pity: his zombification is long settled, and though Shark Demon and the others may have marked themselves while living, he never did. Even success would do him no good. Tai Bai Yun Sheng has better news: Su Bai Man never marked it either, since she took it without knowing its use and, heavily injured, became an immortal zombie herself. Shark Demon, though his lifespan was ample, became one too to stay with his wife, and only later did both learn its proper use. ^{ch. 746}

At the banquet, Shark Demon’s group also raised Spring Autumn Cicada, a Gu that legend says can reach the river of time and return to the past. Tai Bai Yun Sheng calls it only an example. Reaching the river’s front that way would let Time Anchor mark it upstream, freeing Man as Before to work. Fang Yuan falls into thought and says nothing. Fang Yuan turns the problem further. Refining Looking Back Immortal Gu with Vivid Recollection Immortal Gu yields the rank eight Extreme Past, which draws out a Gu Immortal’s will to observe the past through the river of time. Looking Back and Vivid Recollection each observe the past from the present, with Vivid Recollection reaching only its user’s own past. Paired with Time Anchor, Extreme Past could mark the past from the present, letting him use Man as Before to restore his living body without losing wisdom Gu. ^{ch. 746}

Fang Yuan thanks Tai Bai Yun Sheng, calling the costly method, a hundred years at least, still a form of hope. Tai Bai Yun Sheng waves off the thanks as needless between family. During the wait, he offers Fang Yuan black oil from Zombie Alliance to slow his blessed land’s decay, hard to get but obtainable through his ties to Shark Demon. ^{ch. 746}

Fang Yuan laughs. During Tai Bai Yun Sheng’s absence he adopted a fake identity, Sha Huang, to enter Northern Plains Zombie Alliance. He invites him to the Northern Plains auction and gives him the mortal killer move unfamiliar face, from Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable, plus cloud path killer moves. ^{ch. 746}

Fang Yuan shows him the Gu Immortal captives and the deal struck with Lang Ya land spirit. Tai Bai Yun Sheng, shocked, agrees to go, adding that Hei Lou Lan and Fairy Li Shan should come too. Fang Yuan agrees they will definitely go, but says that although the alliance stands exposed to Hei Cheng, now is not the time to travel openly with them.
