Chapter 705

Tiger Demon’s anger will warns Immortal Crane Sect’s other two supreme elders that the ten great sects sit on a powder keg of scarce resources and saturated experts. He cites Great Heavenly Sword Sect as proof. He guesses Hu Immortal blessed land’s Gu Immortals are likely a lone cultivator alliance of their own region, and that the ambushers may be too. ^{ch. 705}

Second supreme elder agrees that He Feng Yang’s death would have forced the sect to strike the blessed land for its reputation. Tiger Demon proposes accepting Fang Yuan’s terms and joining all ten sects in a wide scale immortal slaughtering plan against the true culprits. First supreme elder reveals that Combat Immortal Sect’s Shi Lei once proposed the same plan to Heavenly Court, which rejected it and warned against targeting smaller sects or lone cultivators. But He Feng Yang’s next words catch his attention: ambushed by three Gu Immortals on the way back and nearly killed, seemingly to frame Fang Yuan. His sect is investigating whether Fang Yuan’s side has offended anyone. Fang Yuan does not hide his shock. He remembers such killings beginning only well after the five regions chaotic war. Privately he thinks of the force that plotted against him in treasure yellow heaven, whose name he does not know and would not share. ^{ch. 705}

Aloud, Fang Yuan denies it, saying he has stayed inside the blessed land the whole time. He suggests instead that Immortal Crane Sect draws more enemies than he does, and that the attack may target the sect with him as a diversion. He Feng Yang gets nothing more from him. Fang Yuan closes the door as Hei Lou Lan and Fairy Li Shan come to congratulate him. Fairy Li Shan calls it a truly great victory won without battle or huge investment, yet with incredible rewards. Fang Yuan corrects her: it is their alliance collaborating with Immortal Crane Sect, not his alone. He sets the split at forty percent for their side, sixty for his own.
