Chapter 621

Every true inheritance in the secluded domain carries a portion of Giant Sun’s will, which is why fated challengers can succeed in taking them at all, Immortal Gu included. The same holds for every round inside Eighty-Eight True Yang Building: because Giant Sun’s will has already refined the reward Gu worms in advance and deliberately lets a winner have them, that Gu Master can refine them instantly and keep them in their aperture. Earlier, Fang Yuan had used the third method to expel Giant Sun’s will from True Yang Building, entered the building himself, and convinced Tai Bai Yun Sheng to revive Dang Hun Mountain. He came back to attempt control of Imperial Court blessed land. Since this newborn true inheritance is as defenseless as a baby, being inside it would have let him learn its every detail, a chance he threw away. Helping would have brought benefit, opposing brought his current wounds, but Fang Yuan snickers without a trace of regret. As he retreats and heals, he answers her that even if he cannot touch the inheritance himself, Giant Sun’s will certainly will not leave it alone. ^{ch. 621}

This luck path inheritance is one of three supreme true inheritances in the secluded domain, and in Giant Sun’s own heart it was not unacceptable to eventually pass it to Ma Hong Yun. But Ma Hong Yun’s heart belongs to an otherworldly demon, a grave taboo. Giant Sun’s will was made with a standing purpose to slaughter any otherworldly demon it meets, and with Zhao Lian Yun now shielded by the true inheritance, killing her means stripping that shield away first. The whole forest erupts: countless treemen uproot and merge into towering combined giants at least three hundred meters tall, their aura shocking even to Fang Yuan, encircling the inheritance as Giant Sun’s will pours all its effort into killing Zhao Lian Yun. ^{ch. 621}

Fang Yuan retreats without trouble, since exterminating the otherworldly demon now outranks him and Giant Sun’s will, its strength limited, chooses to focus entirely on the inheritance rather than split its attention. He soon reaches Tai Bai Yun Sheng and Hei Lou Lan. The two are locked in a stalemate. Tai Bai Yun Sheng, a healing and flying master, specializes in drawn out fights and slips away like an eel, so their battle has wrecked the trees from sky to ground with neither side able to win. Fang Yuan calls out to him as senior brother and offers help, and the term itself tips off Hei Lou Lan, since central continent is the one region among the five that runs on sects rather than family bloodlines. ^{ch. 621}

Enraged, believing them long-plotting sect brothers, Hei Lou Lan sends four punches that burst into a human strength phantom wearing his own face. It splits into four shadows, three aimed at the mortal Fang Yuan as the weaker target and the fourth blocking Tai Bai Yun Sheng from reinforcing him. Tai Bai Yun Sheng, already worn down by this same killer move, has used up most of the defensive Gu worms he obtained in Hu Immortal blessed land through Fang Yuan’s gift, and shouts a warning to retreat. Even Mo Yao calls it stronger than Fang Yuan’s own four arm earth king. Unafraid, Fang Yuan answers that he has something stronger still and calls out six arm heavenly zombie king. A formless, pressuring aura bursts out, pain surging through him like waves even as pleasure floods his body. His frame swells rapidly, his skin darkens and hardens, and in a moment he stands six meters tall with six huge, distinct arms grown from his back beside his own two. ^{ch. 621}

The three phantoms meet him head on, and both sides trade blows heavy enough to tear the air, evenly matched until Tai Bai Yun Sheng, watching, realizes with shock that a mere mortal is holding three phantoms at once. The phantoms, acting with their own will, then pincer him from the front, upper left and lower right, but his eight arms, his own two plus the six new ones, move in a circling rain of blows that blocks every direction without a gap. Three explosions later, the phantoms can no longer hold together and shatter back into fist qi. Hei Lou Lan’s pupils shrink. ^{ch. 621}

Tai Bai Yun Sheng is surprised and yet not surprised, since thinking of his master explains everything. His heart settles enough to turn fully to his own opponent. He releases up to a hundred Gu worms at once, chainsaw wind blade, flame sword flash, azure blue water python and golden silk net among them, in a barrage that steadily wears his phantom down. Only his own recent advancement, and the thin store of Gu worms it left him, keeps this from the far larger attack a fuller Gu Immortal could muster. His cautious, wary nature, the same reason he had once chosen the as before inheritance over the other two, keeps him from truly reinforcing Fang Yuan. ^{ch. 621}

Hei Lou Lan’s motive had been achieved, yet he cannot be happy, since he realises Fang Yuan does not need reinforcements. Fang Yuan grows more ferocious as he fights, his punches and kicks quickening until his fist shadows blur into a black afterimage. Even so, Hei Lou Lan’s battle intent surges, and he judges the move nearly a match for his own. He credits Fang Yuan’s rich battle experience and master level combat skill for pushing it this far, admitting his earlier punches were only a probe. Fang Yuan floats apart from him, gazes locked. ^{ch. 621}

About a thousand steps separate them. Then Giant Sun’s will orders Hei Lou Lan to stop fighting and help push the luck path true inheritance into the secluded domain, whose entrance it is about to open. It calls the inheritance the only surviving record of itself anywhere in the world, absent even from Longevity Heaven. Hei Lou Lan hesitates, his battle intent wavering, since Giant Sun Immortal Venerable’s standing in his heart runs deep, built since childhood into pride in his own bloodline and a large part of his self worth. That round is already controlled by Giant Sun’s will, its treemen filling the area like a sea.
