Nature of the Three Inheritances
In the silvery night of Imperial Court blessed land, Fang Yuan stands above Di Qiu while azure wolves run freely in the sky. His wolf groups now number two hundred thousand land wolves alone, spread around a radius of a hundred li. Most Gu Masters see the azure wolves, the symbol of Wolf King, know Chang Shan Yin is hunting here and detour. Those who do not detour have ill intentions and are attacked. ch. 563
The sacred palace shines in bright light again, a sign that Eighty-Eight True Yang Building is going to materialize its second floor. Fang Yuan’s heart settles: this is the light in the soil part of the clue. He is only eighty percent sure, since he has just the latter half of the inheritance’s clue and central continent Gu Immortals hold the first half. But that half describes how to open it, and with his foundation as a refinement master and the building’s information he forcefully interprets it to snatch the inheritance midway. Elated, he sees that the clue’s next phrase, shine up to a hundred thousand feet high, would be a huge mistake if taken literally, for it tests refinement ability and describes refinement steps. He throws in two shine back spike Gu for defense, three high observation Gu for investigation, one ten thousand heart piercing arrow Gu for attack and nine nine feet flame Gu for assistance. Grey-yellow smoke rumbles inside for seven minutes before darkness returns and the cave vanishes. He guesses the sacred palace is about to become chaotic. ch. 563
In the palace, first elder Hei Pei sees Tai Bai Yun Sheng out of a secret door and promises him a guest token. Hei Pei sighs that the allure of an Immortal Venerable inheritance is really huge, since even Tai Bai Yun Sheng came to bribe him. Since Hei Lou Lan opened the building, Hei Pei has become extremely popular with visitors seeking favor. Tai Bai Yun Sheng’s visit still shocks him. He hopes to obtain lifespan Gu from the building, and if not, he can only try to ascend to Gu Immortal realm. The beggar’s inheritance reaches rank six Gu Immortal realm and states very clearly how a mortal ascends, so he knows the risk: if heaven, earth or man is insufficient, he would die. Ascending cannot raise his lifespan, but the inheritance leaves a very difficult hope that requires him to ascend first.
