Chapter 558

Fang Yuan walks into the treasure room, a long crystal hallway whose walls seal Gu worms and Gu recipes. Each treasure must be exchanged for an equivalent item. He halts before a rank five Heavenly Essence Treasure King Lotus, a blue and white lotus as large as a face, created by Genesis Lotus Immortal Venerable. It belongs to a series that rises from the rank three Heavenly Essence Treasure Lotus to the rank six Heavenly Essence Treasure Imperial Lotus. The Imperial Lotus ranks sixth among the top ten Immortal Gu and is now held by Lang Ya land spirit. ^{ch. 558}

Fang Yuan once used a Heavenly Essence Treasure Lotus to make up for his lack of aptitude. He lacked the recipes to advance it. It also needed natural spirit springs, so he gave it up once his aptitude improved greatly. Now the King Lotus moves him: the series works as mobile spirit springs that produce primeval essence naturally, and the rank five suits his present condition. In his first aperture he finds eighteen rank five spring egg Gu, the reward for passing a round with high grade evaluation, sent in directly by True Yang Building. ^{ch. 558}

Killing a strong eggman emperor can yield a spring egg Gu, which buried deep gives birth to a spirit spring. Large tribes and clans collect these Gu, as do Gu Immortals for blessed lands. The one he examines is cracked and bears primeval essence traces, and he judges that the flying hand snow snatched it while it was active. Giant Sun Immortal Venerable schemed for his descendants: the Imperial Court contest weakens other tribes, and the ten year blizzard sends northern plains’ treasures into the building. In Fang Yuan’s previous life, central continent Gu Immortals sent in pawns who scattered Gu worms for the flying hand snow to take, until the building faced destruction from inside and a fatal loophole appeared. Having destroyed Imperial Court Blessed Land, they exposed Giant Sun Immortal Venerable’s evil deeds, but the Huang Jin tribes and super forces kept northern plains stable. ^{ch. 558}

Fang Yuan holds spring egg Gu to the wall sealing the King Lotus. The first shows red, orange and yellow light, and only a fourth brings green into balance with them. The wall turns hollow, the lotus flies into his hands, and the four spring egg Gu fly into the wall in its place. He refines the lotus at once. He reasons that the treasure room has eight categories of light, with more lights meaning more valuable treasure, and green is only mid-tier. ^{ch. 558}

Lang Ya land spirit’s detailed information puts Fang Yuan easily among the top three people in the world in understanding the building. Long Hair Ancestor made the crystal wall by extracting the apertures of tens of thousands of Gu Masters with a secret technique. He refined their aperture walls with profound ice Gu, ice wall Gu, grand jade Gu, slow down Gu, vitality Gu and others. The wall keeps sealed Gu asleep and unharmed for centuries or millennia. Time has dulled its luster and left thick powder at the corners, since even an Immortal Gu house suffers some expenditure. Otherwise the building would not have been destroyed in Fang Yuan’s previous life. ^{ch. 558}

Fang Yuan moves on past walls sealing Gu worms, recipes, materials and the cultivation experiences of past Gu Masters who passed with high grade evaluation. He stops at a knee high stele inscribed guest halt in northern plains’ script. Giant Sun Immortal Venerable set up the building for his descendants, but entrants might lack his bloodline. He therefore put the most precious resources behind the stele, where outsiders such as Chang Shan Yin can only look on. Fang Yuan is not Chang Shan Yin. An invisible wall blocks him when he tries to pass. He sits facing it and sends a prepared Gu worm into it, beginning the first step of refining the building. ^{ch. 558}
