Fang Yuan opens his eyes on a completely transformed scene, a light gold sky over boundless spring plains. This is Imperial Court blessed land, which opens once a decade as a reward to the lord of northern plains. Everyone was transported to random areas after the gate, so he is alone. By the earlier agreement he must head to the center, Northern Plains Sacred Palace, Giant Sun Immortal Venerable’s former residence. He activates eagle rise Gu, and two huge pitch-black wings grow on his back with intense pain. Mortal Gu are not restricted here, and Immortal Gu cannot be restrained in any blessed land. ch. 548
Flying slowly, he sees a tower on the ground every eight li. Giant Sun Immortal Venerable built them, and each holds tens of thousands of Gu worms that find their food inside. One tower holds about a thousand starlight firefly Gu. He cannot take any, since Gu Masters who tried when the Imperial Court contest first began were melted to white bone by the blessed land’s power. ch. 548
A space path Gu Immortal whose name is lost created this blessed land, which is why it is far larger than others. Giant Sun Immortal Venerable inherited it luckily before becoming an immortal. As an Immortal Venerable he set up the Imperial Court contest, and under his manipulation the blessed land no longer suffers heavenly tribulations or earthly calamities. ch. 548
After an hour, a bright red giant python, at least a hundred meters long, provokes Fang Yuan from a small valley. He names it a rarely seen eerie fire dragon python. It shoots a carriage-sized blue purple flame, which he avoids easily by flying higher. He activates the killer move four arm wind king and dives into it. The python is a mutated beast king equal to a rank five Gu Master, but he is rank five peak stage and stronger with the move. Since it provoked him on purpose, he treats it as a training dummy to improve the move. ch. 548
After half an hour the python lies dead, half covered in broken rocks, and the valley is completely ruined. Fang Yuan is charred black and coughs up blood. The improved move leaves much less severe aftermath than before. He collects the loot, among it python blood and the extremely valuable eerie fire snake gall, which could sell in treasure yellow heaven. ch. 548
Searching for young pythons to breed in Hu Immortal blessed land, he finds a bright red rock like a fire lotus. As he nears, it opens completely in layers, showing Gu worms and a stele in northern plains words. The stele says Huo Zheng Jun, a righteous rank four fire path Gu Master, entered this valley by accident and was attacked by the python. Before dying from his injuries, he left his Gu worms as an inheritance for a fated individual. Of the seven he left, four have died and three remain. Only his core Gu, rank four fire pupil Gu, attracts Fang Yuan. ch. 548
Fire pupil Gu burns whatever the user looks at, but long use damages the user’s eyes unless healing Gu and complementing Gu weaken the effect. The stele also records Gu recipes, which Fang Yuan stores in east window Gu. The fire pupil Gu recipe has high value: rank three fire eye Gu advances to it with sight blow Gu and associated materials. Fire eye Gu is a one-time investigative Gu, and a failure blinds the user. Hao Ji Liu from the Hei tribe army has sight blow Gu. ch. 548
Fang Yuan keeps the three Gu worms in his aperture and smashes the stele. He does not mean to take up the fire path, and fire pupil Gu, too reliant on visual contact, does not suit his style. This is the first Gu Master inheritance he has obtained here, and countless more exist, since the superb environment spares them from calamities. ch. 548
In the python’s cave, about a hundred meters underground, he finds six eggs. Hatching them needs daily bathing in eerie fire and python blood, and the young then need an adult python to teach them. He has no time to waste, so he keeps the eggs and flies on without lingering. ch. 548
