Chapter 1955

Every gaze on the battlefield gathers on Fang Yuan, who stands surrounded by the three monsters, guarding him and watching the surroundings with hostility. Fang Yuan names Reckless Savage Demon Venerable in shock. Duke Long shouts that even a venerable’s method will not save him and pushes the immortal killer move Qi Breath Mountain from afar. Triple qi retraction has given him a massive amount of qi path dao marks, so the mountain is much larger and extremely solid. The green fish appears before him and sends him flying with its head, shattering all his bones and almost bursting his organs. Triple qi retraction and qi path healing restore him in a few breaths, but he crashes into the aperture walls at Heavenly Court’s boundary. The immortals find the monsters’ might unimaginable and recall that Reckless Savage Demon Venerable is recognized as the venerable with the highest physical strength. The three regions’ Gu Immortals exult at the reinforcements, and Heavenly Court’s immortals, completely confident in fate Gu and Duke Long, also have high morale. Duke Long returns, having learned his lesson, and uses long range qi path attacks to avoid close combat. After a dozen moves he understands the monsters. ^{ch. 1955}

When the three regions’ Gu Immortals hold the upper hand, the tower stops and fate vanquish bursts out again. Heavenly Court then holds the momentum, yet the three regions fare much better than after the first fate vanquish, because they have the monsters. This repeats until Heavenly Court is filled with ruins and the monsters’ aura has fallen. Bing Sai Chuan, his heart turning cold, says the monsters are only arrangements left by Reckless Savage Demon Venerable, who failed to invade, so fate vanquish keeps weakening them. If the three regions fail to break through while the monsters are active, they will definitely suffer a miserable and disastrous defeat. Far away, Fairy Zi Wei tells Spectral Soul that even Reckless Savage Demon Venerable’s method cannot change the outcome now that fate Gu is intact. Spectral Soul, translucent but in human form again, glances at Imperfection Regret Pavilion, where two venerables’ silhouettes keep playing chess. Star Constellation’s silhouette asks whether Limitless’ silhouette minds that Spectral Soul stole a portion of their game’s results. Limitless’ silhouette laughs that it is Spectral Soul’s own capability and looks forward to the day Spectral Soul reaches a realm they could not. She calls him a pure Dao pursuer. He answers that heaven and earth is a cage stopping his Dao, so he wants to pursue freedom, and she warns that his freedom will break the cage. He says their positions differ. ^{ch. 1955}

Limitless’ silhouette grows more illusory, and the match reaches its most crucial point. He is greatly disadvantaged, his pieces surrounded by hers. Spectral Soul regaining freedom without the Door of Life and Death is probably Star Constellation’s ploy, one even Fairy Zi Wei does not know. Limitless’ silhouette has not lost, since a forceful attack on his gathered main pieces would definitely cost heavy losses and give him the initiative. But he lacks the strength to break out alone, and a rash attack would fall into a trap, so he can only defend and wait for the reinforcements he has waited a million years for. Star Constellation’s silhouette says it is time to see the quality of their pieces, and her gaze stops on Fang Yuan with complicated expressions.
