Killing Father, Dream Revelations

Wu Shuai suspects that his father’s revelation might be a plot against his father and himself, but Gu Liang calls this very unlikely, since the father chose many of the coincidences himself. Gu Liang likens the case to how humans first got the heavenly revelation from fate Gu, which leaves the suspicious Wu Shuai speechless. Heavenly Court’s Gu Immortals arrive to visit because of the father’s injuries. Gu Liang tells Wu Shuai to decide now or the whole race faces extermination. Wu Shuai collapses, then sacrifices his father, a choice he knows will pain him for eternity, since he cannot gamble the race on an uncertain revelation. That day his father dies of the backlash of failing to build Central Heaven Gate, his soul completely erased. The visitors find no evidence and, though suspicious, can do nothing to a rank eight, so they leave. ch. 1844

For ten nights Wu Shuai cannot sleep, and Tai Qin consoles him while he cries in her arms, though he does not dare tell her the truth. Tai Qin is extremely sad that in all these years she has borne him no child, since mixed blood between variant humans and humans very rarely produces children. Wu Shuai is immersed in anguish for half a year. Gu Liang urges him not to blame himself so much that Heavenly Court senses something, and Wu Shuai thanks him and resumes work on Central Heaven Gate. ch. 1844

Asked whether to trust the revelation, Gu Liang says that if dragonmen are meant to reign supreme, heaven’s will will definitely care for them. He cites Yu Ji, who stole fate Gu for Primordial Origin after learning the revelation that humans would reign supreme. Wu Shuai asks why his father died when Yu Ji did not. Gu Liang guesses that Star Constellation Immortal Venerable, who had assimilated with heaven’s will, now interferes with it, and says the father died for a good cause. He suggests Wu Shuai may be the fated individual, though Wu Shuai answers that variant humans cannot become venerable. Gu Liang calls the usual reason, man as the spirit of all beings, likely a cover, since some exceptionally strong humans never reached rank nine either, Duke Long among them before becoming a dragonman. He says his tribe has been researching why variant humans cannot become venerable and will pay any price for the secret, and Wu Shuai swears to share it at no cost. ch. 1844

No revelation comes, and the dragonmen call Wu Shuai a dog for continuing the job that killed his father, so more of them leave South Flower Island. Then he dreams of his father urging him on, and of a nameless ancient desolate weed deep in an Earth Trench in Eastern Sea that would let him and Tai Qin have children. He wakes wondering whether this is the heavenly revelation. He recalls dreaming of Huang Wei’s farewell and his father’s wish to join his late wife, each before they died. With Gu Liang’s strength he retrieves the weed, he and Tai Qin use it, and months later her pregnancy confirms his guess. ch. 1844

More revelations come, and he finishes Central Heaven Gate with a backdoor that Heavenly Court never notices, even when they check. To gain Heavenly Court’s trust he stops developing the dragonman race and focuses on his own cultivation, passing tribulation after tribulation with Gu Liang’s help. A new revelation tells him to build rank eight Dragon Palace, whose core is rank eight Dream Token, a dream path Gu that corresponds to the great era. Extremely excited, he travels the five regions and two heavens for dream path immortal materials. Such materials are very rare and often lie unnoticed in some corner. He follows the revelations to find, gather and refine them. ch. 1844
