Gu Liang

For decades he stays close to the South Flower Island dragonmen. When Wu Shuai is forced to obey Duke Long, Gu Liang visits, consoles him, and offers a method: help Wu Shuai pass the final tribulation and become a true rank eight. His aura transforms from rank seven to rank eight; he had been disguising as rank seven. He says he approached Wu Shuai for his own intentions as an Eastern Sea Gu Immortal willing to see internal conflict in Central Continent, and that he also admires Wu Shuai. With his help Wu Shuai passes the tribulation without danger. He later tells Wu Shuai Heavenly Court secrets tied to fate Gu and urges borrowing Red Lotus’s coming conflict with Heavenly Court. ^{ch. 1842}

Wu Shuai learns Gu Liang’s true identity: he is not a human but a variant human Gu Immortal. Gu Liang argues Heavenly Court is extremely wary of variant humans, pushes the plan to sacrifice Huang Wei to gain Duke Long’s trust, helps with Central Heaven Gate, and later urges sacrificing Wu Shuai’s injured father so Heavenly Court will not learn the fate Gu revelation. ^{ch. 1843}

He says his tribe has been researching why variant humans cannot become venerable and offers any price for that secret. ^{ch. 1844} Much later, Fang Yuan’s dragonman clone tells Gu tribe’s leader that his close friend Gu Liang, who was also that tribe’s leader, had wanted members transformed into dragonmen. ^{ch. 1862}
