Chapter 1747

Dragon Spirit’s dream path killer move, made from Dragon Palace, overwhelms Heaven Overseeing Tower, which has no dream path defense. Yao Huang and the others see hope of victory. The Southern and Northern immortals rally to defend Dragon Palace, and Heavenly Court’s Gu Immortals turn pale. Fang Yuan senses that something is wrong, because Duke Long, entangled with Di Zang Sheng, stays calm and even looks nostalgic. ^{ch. 1747}

Duke Long is recalling a scene from over a million years ago, when his disciple Hong Ting, Red Lotus Demon Venerable, arrived in the depths of Heavenly Court. Duke Long, furious that Red Lotus defied fate to resurrect dead people, says the rebirth secret is exposed and he is truly disappointed. Red Lotus replies that he has come resolved to die and asks his master to help him destroy fate Gu. He says fate Gu has abandoned humanity, and Duke Long finishes the revelation for him: dragonmen will reign supreme. Red Lotus asks whether his master guards fate Gu for the dragonmen, but Duke Long denies it, saying his heart stays with humanity. Red Lotus believes him, admitting the question was a deliberate provocation. ^{ch. 1747}

Duke Long says he created the dragonman lifespan extension method to keep teaching Red Lotus, never imagining the dragonman revelation. The Heavenly Dao takes away surpluses and replenishes deficits, he explains, so humanity’s prosperity draws a correction, as when Primordial Origin Immortal Venerable obtained fate Gu. Primordial Origin Immortal Venerable had already asked what humans would do once their fated supremacy vanished, and on his deathbed he handed the duty to his disciple, the future Star Constellation Immortal Venerable. Near the end of her lifespan she chose to assimilate with the Dao. Only the Heavenly Dao can directly control fate Gu, so her sacrifice let her will take part in the Heavenly Dao’s operations and influence heaven’s will, and Heavenly Court can grasp fate Gu indefinitely. Red Lotus realizes this is why Star Constellation Immortal Venerable’s arrangements stopped three Demon Venerables including himself. ^{ch. 1747}

Duke Long argues that super forces rarely last, since an offended rank eight Gu Immortal could completely exterminate one, yet Heavenly Court endures because fate Gu arranges coincidences that settle its conflicts and make its enemies decline or surrender. Star Constellation’s will is often disadvantaged against heaven’s will, as the dragonman revelation shows, but Duke Long chose to wait and the revelation reverted to humanity reigning supreme. He answers his own question with no, because heaven, the Heavenly Dao, Star Constellation’s will and fate Gu’s revelation all stand above Red Lotus. Even the longest living venerable reached only twenty-five thousand years, while Heavenly Court has millions of years behind it. Silent and helpless, Red Lotus sees that destroying Heavenly Court would achieve nothing, since Heavenly Court could be rebuilt while fate Gu exists and Star Constellation’s will would keep making humanity reign supreme. He is not a wisdom path rank nine, so he has no method against that will, and he does not want one, since it protects the human race.
