Chapter 1745

Fang Yuan leads the charge as the sharpest tip of the spear, carrying the hopes of the Southern and Northern immortals. They feel the irony of staking everything on an enemy, while Heavenly Court Gu Immortals call them evil demons for associating with Fang Yuan. Two Immortal Gu Houses flank Fang Yuan to guard him. Although Heavenly Court’s members mostly guard the rear, few can defend the retreating Heaven Overseeing Tower against the overwhelming charge. ^{ch. 1745}

Duke Long, pushing Di Zang Sheng’s teeth apart inch by inch, follows the battle through everybody’s vision. He reasons that killing Fang Yuan, their only hope, would sink the morale of the Southern and Northern immortals and might even make them surrender. Fang Yuan also holds Spring Autumn Cicada and is Red Lotus’s final hope. Duke Long recalls Red Lotus, bloodied and near death, saying his hope was left to the great era, to a successor who would fight his way to Heavenly Court. He vowed to kill that hope himself. ^{ch. 1745}

Duke Long pries open Di Zang Sheng’s teeth, vanishes, and appears behind Fang Yuan to grab him. Fang Yuan turns to fight, an Immortal Gu House steps between them, and Duke Long tears apart that incomparably tough house with his claws. Heavenly Lord Bai Zu stalls him again and again by switching places with his clones, using a killer move he took from Longevity Heaven’s treasury. It had also brought Heavenly Lord Bai Zu back from Eastern Sea after karma relocation. Other Heavenly Court Gu Immortals soon target him, and he must look after himself. ^{ch. 1745}

Five Elements Grandmaster raises Five Elements Ring, his strongest defense, but Duke Long breaks it without being stalled. Despite the heavy backlash he chases on, until Duke Long, without looking back, throws a purple-gold dragon-shaped qi that bursts Five Elements Grandmaster into pieces on the spot. His death does not deter the others. Yi Hao Fang attacks recklessly, holds Duke Long for a few breaths, and is killed. Duke Long grows anxious, because heavenly dragon’s last stand lets him kill rank eight Gu Immortals like birds but his lifespan is about to end. ^{ch. 1745}

Fang Yuan finally reaches the Tower, which Bing Sai Chuan is holding back with Calamity Luck Altar. His great thief ghost hand grabs a rank seven Immortal Gu and much mortal Gu, but fate Gu is unaffected. Only dream path killer moves work, and with no offensive one he can only self-detonate Pure Dream Reality Seeker Physique bodies, which the Tower has prepared against. When he uses the second great thief ghost hand, a rank eight Gu Immortal blocks it easily. The newcomer is Lu Wei Yin. The Southern and Northern Gu Immortals shout his name in anger. ^{ch. 1745}

Lu Wei Yin points at Fang Yuan. He says his disciple Ye Fan died in Fang Yuan’s hands and Fang Yuan shall die here. The immortals protest that he is Paradise Earth’s inheritor and a Southern Border Gu Immortal, and demand that he step aside and join them against Heavenly Court. Lu Wei Yin shakes his head and tells everyone to face reality: fate Gu is repaired, the situation is set, and relying on Fang Yuan will only add casualties and suffering among the people. ^{ch. 1745}
