Heavenly Court's Foundation

Liu Liu Liu, the only one left of his batch of Northern Plains experts, has killed at least eight Heavenly Court members. He launches a long-prepared sneak attack on Fairy Zi Wei, whom he judges a crucial key to the battle. Wu Shuang, who had reinforced Duke Long earlier, rushes in front of her. The grey knife killer move pierces Wu Shuang, who blocks most of the attack, and still stabs Fairy Zi Wei’s shoulder, leaving Wu Shuang dead and Fairy Zi Wei heavily injured. Liu Liu Liu vanishes. ch. 1737

Duke Long blocks Seven Extreme Desolation’s killer move at the price of his two hands, which droop powerlessly, and the dragon scales on his chest, which are completely destroyed. The dark path dao marks in his hands are extremely dense and greatly hinder his healing. Calamity Luck Altar drills into the ground and strikes from below, trapping him in a shrinking golden light sphere. A large part of his dragon horns falls off. ch. 1737

Bing Sai Chuan announces that fate Gu will belong to Longevity Heaven and death awaits Duke Long. He cannot kill Duke Long within so short a period but means to lower Heavenly Court’s morale, and many members are shaken. Duke Long laughs and asks whether Heavenly Court members fear death when Northern Plains Gu Immortals do not. The immortals cheer, saying they hibernated out of responsibility and never feared sacrifice. They counterattack with their own bodies, trying to take Northern Plains experts down with them, and Bing Sai Chuan’s plan is ruined. ch. 1737

Bing Sai Chuan retorts that the Gu Immortals sacrificed on his side were only formed by the killer move of Red Lotus Demon Venerable and were never alive, so Northern Plains is definitely winning the exchange. Duke Long replies that Longevity Heaven, founded in the Medieval Antiquity Era, is only about three hundred thousand years old while Heavenly Court has lasted over three million. Bing Sai Chuan, silent, sees fewer Northern Plains Gu Immortals leaving the phantom River of Time while groups of Heavenly Court Gu Immortals keep awakening. Heavenly Court’s foundation is truly unfathomable. ch. 1737

Duke Long adds that a tribe has few geniuses and cannot truly nurture them, since blood relations obstruct and its Gu Immortals are extremely busy. Central Continent, he says, chose geniuses from all its mortals, and sects give each junior guidance from many people. He calls the Northern Plains immortals truly courageous but says they have really underestimated Heavenly Court’s foundation. Bing Sai Chuan finds no words. ch. 1737

Over three million years earlier, in the Remote Antiquity Era, Primordial Origin Immortal Venerable tells the Gu Immortals gathered at his call that Central Continent will establish sects. They are reluctant, and one urges him to found a clan instead, saying that as the only rank nine Gu Immortal of the current world he would definitely make it the number one super force. He refuses, saying blood ties thin as a clan develops and he wants an organization that does not rely on them. Another counters that his presence would hold a clan together. He agrees, but asks how much longer he can live. ch. 1737

Others answer that he is at his prime and that they will search for lifespan Gu so he lives the longest in history. He replies that he will still die, because other methods of extension have flaws and lifespan Gu will keep decreasing in production. Calling this heaven’s will, he says the way of heaven takes away surpluses while replenishing deficits. Among variant humans and humans alike, he says, new experts replace the old. He might be invincible in the world, but only temporarily, and he will die one day. He adds that the Heavenly Dao, Fate, and Rules and Regulations are all recorded in The Legends of Ren Zu. ch. 1737
