Chapter 1709

Wu Yong leads the Southern Alliance immortals into the sixth layer of the formation, a dark space with no boundaries. Luo Ran, a Luo clan general of peak rank seven battle strength, names it a space path formation. Chi Qu You deduces that it is likely the spaceless formation, which extends distance, though modified with a hidden variation he cannot yet identify. Since the spaceless formation has no offensive power, Chi Qu You proposes that they advance while he deduces along the way. The group sets off with Chi Qu You at the center. ^{ch. 1709}

Yao Tian Ze spots a huge green and white radish, large like a house, floating motionless in the dark. Qiao Zhi Cai identifies the great profound ice light radish, an extinct immortal plant that Heavenly Court still kept. Wu Yong warns that anyone who gets close will be pierced by countless ice lights and frozen to death. Qiao Zhi Cai adds that the lights are its dao marks, so firing them leaves it a mortal material and gives the storm the force of an immortal killer move from a rank eight Gu Immortal. The immortals step back. ^{ch. 1709}

The formation then teleports a Southern Border Gu Immortal beside the radish, which shrinks to a third of its size, and countless ice needles pierce him thoroughly despite his strongest defensive method. He freezes into an ice statue. The immortals are deeply shocked. The teleport is clearly the variation Chi Qu You sensed, and with the radish it makes a perfect combination. Wu Yong, who leads the alliance, has lost its first member. ^{ch. 1709}

When the formation tries to teleport another Southern Alliance Gu Immortal, Luo Ran activates a rank seven Immortal Gu, Suppress Space. It freezes the space around them and gives the targeted immortal a few crucial seconds to escape. Luo Ran says he obtained this Gu from an Earth Trench recently. Heavenly Court built the formation out of a vast number of mortal Gu and several rank seven Immortal Gu, yet this one Gu counters it. Chi Qu You calls it a good Gu worm that counters the formation, and the immortals no longer worry about moving through it. ^{ch. 1709}

With the formation active, Chi Qu You finds a loophole and tells Wu Yong to link through it with the unlimited wind outside. Wild winds break the formation, and the immortals return outside. Six formations are broken for one member lost, so morale surges. The formation’s controller feels extremely heavy hearted. ^{ch. 1709}

The controller is Chen Yi, a young looking wood path rank eight of some thousands of years, Heavenly Lotus Sect’s previous first supreme elder and the current Genesis Lotus inheritor. Only three formations remain, so he and Bai Cang Shui, a Heavenly Court member, walk out to gain time, and he asks whether anyone dares to fight him alone. Wu Yong takes out Clear Jade Dripping Wind Tiny Bamboo Building, which lets rank seven Gu Immortals join the fight, barely. Ba Shi Ba offers to face Chen Yi alone. Wu Yong orders a group attack instead, and charges with several Southern Border rank eights. ^{ch. 1709}

Bai Cang Shui’s white waves meet Ba Shi Ba’s profound light and Yi Hao Fang’s arrow rain, which only shakes the phantom trees around Chen Yi. Wu Yong’s afterimage stays behind while his true body vanishes. Chen Yi, about to retaliate, finds Wu Yong right behind him. The concealed person Chen Yi had detected was an illusion. ^{ch. 1709}

Wu Yong pats Chen Yi’s shoulder and says farewell as a friend sending him off. Chen Yi recognizes the immortal killer move Farewell Friend Wind, which Heavenly Court never found despite extensive search. He loses control of his body and floats forward as his hair, clothes and limbs begin to disintegrate. None of his methods works, even the karma divine tree killer move. ^{ch. 1709}
