Birth of Red Lotus 2

In a rainstorm in Central Continent’s Maple Leaf City, the city lord Hong Zhu paces outside the room where his wife labors, extremely worried. He is over fifty and a rank five Gu Master, loves his wife deeply, and has no child. Her labor meets unexpected difficulty despite three famous midwives, and his battle strength and healing Gu worms are no help. Then the midwives announce a boy, and Hong Zhu rushes in, ecstatic. ch. 1675

A peculiar fragrance spreads and condenses into colorful lights that cover the manor and the surrounding hundreds of li. The rainstorm stops, sunlight pierces the dark clouds, and the lights condense into a manor sized red lotus floating in the air. Above the city, three rank eight Gu Immortals stand on clouds. Duke Mei, in the middle, sighs that the child has finally been born. Duke Tong, on the left, calls the child extraordinary, absolutely an Immortal Venerable seed blessed by the destined luck of humanity so dense that it condensed into a red lotus visible to the naked eye. He adds that it was worth Heavenly Court using three wisdom path Gu Immortals to deduce him. ch. 1675

Duke Mei says all Immortal Venerables and Demon Venerables possessed the destined luck of humanity, but such a phenomenon at birth is rare even in venerable history, so heaven and earth sent calamities and tribulations to eliminate this child. Duke Mei coughs blood. Duke Tong says they suffered heavy injuries blocking those calamities and tribulations. Citing fate Gu’s revelation, Duke Mei tells the young Duke Long that he shares an extremely deep affinity with the child. The child will become a venerable, and Duke Long, his Dao Guardian, must take him as a disciple; each will cause the other’s achievements, and both are destined to shine in human history forever. Duke Long agrees, and Duke Tong adds that he and Duke Mei will enter a very long hibernation to recuperate once back in Heavenly Court. Duke Tong declares the era of the Three Dukes of Heavenly Court over and tells Duke Long to lead Heavenly Court. ch. 1675

Duke Long descends and lands on the manor, where the guards kneel and Hong Zhu pays respects to the lord immortal. Duke Long tells him that his son is a peerless genius who appears once in a million years, definitely outstanding if nurtured well but a huge danger to countless beings if he lacks guidance. He will take the child as a disciple and raise him into a leader of the righteous path. Hong Zhu is stunned and joyous. He is somewhat mentally prepared, but he feels somewhat dejected that he will rarely meet his son. Duke Long promises to bring the boy away only at ten years old, the correct time to start teaching, and Hong Zhu thanks him repeatedly. ch. 1675

The wife brings out the baby and kneels, and Duke Long takes and inspects him. The red lotus descends onto the baby’s forehead as a nine petaled birthmark, which Duke Long thinks no venerable before has shown, so he thinks his disciple will probably be an extremely unique venerable. He hands the baby back and exhales three gusts of qi: one falls on the baby and two merge into the couple. The wife recovers from childbirth and regains the vigor of youth, while Hong Zhu’s old injuries vanish completely and his strength seems to rise by a large degree. Duke Long waves off their thanks, saying he still needs their help, and asks them to love each other and give their son deep care, as this will be extremely helpful to his growth. He says he will return ten years later and flies off into the clouds. The whole city goes into an uproar. ch. 1675
