Duke Tong is one of Heavenly Court's three dukes, a robust rank eight Gu Immortal who watches an Immortal Venerable seed's birth beside Duke Mei and young Duke Long.
Standing on the left among three rank eight Gu Immortals above Maple Leaf City, he sighs that the newborn is extraordinary, blessed by destined luck of humanity so dense it condensed into a grand red lotus visible to the naked eye, and calls the child an Immortal Venerable seed. He says it was worth Heavenly Court using three wisdom path Gu Immortals to deduce him. He is a middle-aged man with a robust physique; his face and muscles seem made from brass with cold metallic glister, standing deep like a pool and lofty like a mountain, as if a vajra tower. After Duke Mei coughs blood, he frowns that they suffered heavy injuries to block the calamities and tribulations. He tells Duke Long to go, and that when they return to Heavenly Court, he and Duke Mei will enter a very long hibernation to recuperate, ending the era of the Three Dukes as Duke Long leads Heavenly Court. ch. 1675
Naming Duke Long
In recollection, he is moved that Duke Long reached rank eight so young, and with Duke Mei he asks Duke Long to become one of them, lead Heavenly Court, and guide the future Immortal Venerable seed. When Duke Long kneels after Red Lotus turns demonic, Duke Tong and Duke Mei hold his arms and console him. ch. 1949
Awakening and bronze rings
He walks out of the immortal graveyard light with Duke Mei, looks into the distance, and locks his eyes on Calamity Luck Altar as he asks where the enemies are. ch. 2180 Against Dragon Soul Dark Castle and Red Heavenly Altar he prepares a killer move: two different sized bronze rings attach to the Immortal Gu Houses, spin rapidly, and immobilize them. Lady White Rabbit gets around Duke Mei and forces him to cancel the bronze ring move to fight her. He and Duke Mei have rank eight cultivation and battle strength on par with Qin Ding Ling, without Duke Long’s pseudo venerable battle strength. ch. 2181
Deaths at Book Mountain
He shouts for Duke Mei to be careful, then after Duke Mei dies he charges Zhan Bu Du in fury. Close combat breaks his arm; Zhan Bu Du destroys his heart and crushes his head. His phantom aperture flies away with his Immortal Gu. ch. 2191 Fang Yuan kills him and Duke Mei again while they still block the path, and Fang Yuan fails to catch their phantom apertures. ch. 2192 He later moves forward with Duke Mei, Golden Hooped Great Immortal, and others to block the charge on the Crazed Demon formation. ch. 2198
