Chapter 1553

Fairy Zi Wei pants in Heavenly Court and finds that the rank eight Immortal Gu House Soul Suppression Hall is completely gone, destroyed from inside by Dang Hun Mountain’s self-detonation. Fairy Zi Wei herself is completely unharmed, because Star Constellation Chessboard took the initiative to protect her, though it suffered a lot of damage. Otherwise she would have been heavily injured even if she survived. She judges that Dang Hun Mountain was tampered with, probably by Spectral Soul Demon Venerable, and that Fang Yuan played her. ^{ch. 1553}

Ahead of her, Spectral Soul lies as a lump of dense black shadow, unharmed by the blast. He created the soul explosion method, and he uses the temporary freedom to hide and nourish himself among the countless soul path dao marks. With the hall destroyed, Heavenly Court has lost its soul search, and clearing those marks will take a long period at least. He keeps silent. ^{ch. 1553}

Thunder from the immortal graveyard rolls over Heavenly Court, and a Gu Immortal wakes in a burst of lightning. She is a girl in pitch-black spiked armor, and she laughs that Spectral Soul Demon Venerable was truly caught. Fairy Zi Wei knows her origin and bows to her as Senior Thunder Ghost True Monarch. The girl, Jing Lan, is surprised that anyone still knows her honorific title. Selected from Black Heaven Temple, she cultivates lightning path and soul path together without conflict, by a method of her own creation. Born in Spectral Soul’s time, she was one of Heavenly Court’s most valuable experts against him and hibernated after he became a venerable. ^{ch. 1553}

Asked for guidance, Jing Lan says that with all her Immortal Gu she could break this tortoise shell in thirty-three days. Fairy Zi Wei admits that some of Jing Lan’s Immortal Gu were destroyed. Jing Lan does not mind, but slightly frowns that three core Immortal Gu are gone, so dealing with Spectral Soul would take at least three months. Fairy Zi Wei is slightly disappointed, since with her methods and Star Constellation Chessboard she would need only over two months. She adds that his inheritor has been extremely active and caused the Dang Hun Mountain explosion. Jing Lan laughs and vows to flay the inheritor’s skin, pull out his tendons, and bring his head before Spectral Soul. Fairy Zi Wei says that with Jing Lan acting Fang Yuan will have no hope left, and promises to deduce his location given a while. ^{ch. 1553}
