A Bit Weak
A huge dragon head charges three hairy man Gu Immortals in Tai Qiu, and Bai Ning Bing flies in, shields them with an ice wall, then freezes the head with cold light after the wall shatters and pulls the three to safety. She judges this dragon head only rank seven and easily matched, but recognizes the true threat: an immemorial desolate beast called myriad head coiling dragon, with ten thousand heads sharing one formation path space she cannot yet escape. The beast creates formation path spaces as its latent ability, the way the upper extreme heavenly eagle enters and leaves grotto-heavens. She can defeat one head alone but not many at once. She hopes to break free, and that Ying Wu Xie and the rest can hold on outside. ch. 1466
Outside, Hei Lou Lan and the other Shadow Sect immortals fight hundreds of dragon heads rising from Tai Qiu’s giant grass, all separate parts of the same myriad head coiling dragon, three of them rank seven and the rest rank six. Lang Ya land spirit’s plea for help obligates Fang Yuan, both for the mission’s reward and his duty as the sect’s supreme elder, so while rushing over he orders Ying Wu Xie and the rest to stall. Ying Wu Xie tells Xue Er and Lady White Rabbit to hold back. Lady White Rabbit worries about retreating, but Xue Er tells her their battle strength would only hold the others back. The beast cannot pursue since its heads stay rooted in place, but their breath attacks alone are already overwhelming, and the immortals barely resist. ch. 1466
Bai Ning Bing, still trapped inside the formation space and bound to defend the three hairy men, cannot escape. Then the immemorial dragon head awakens, its eyes hazy and its waking still incomplete. Its pressure alone is immense enough that Ying Wu Xie orders a retreat, giving up on Bai Ning Bing and the three hairy men. Before they can flee, the dragon head sucks Ying Wu Xie’s group into its formation space as well, though it does not attack them directly, judging rank six and seven immortals beneath its notice. It leaves the fight to a thousand lesser dragon heads instead. Inside the space those heads move freely, appearing and vanishing rather than staying rooted where they grew. ch. 1466
Trapped together, the immortals unite in a desperate defense as the dragon heads press in from every side. One hairy man Gu Immortal is the first to die, and Xue Er, surrounded and unable to escape, braces for death until a dark figure drags her clear. Lady White Rabbit turns into Black Tigress under the pressure and saves her. Xue Er finally understands that Fang Yuan’s Shadow Sect subordinates are all monsters, and that she is the weakest among them. ch. 1466
The trapped immortals realize the formation space runs at a different rate of time than the outside world, a discovery that weighs on them like a stone. Gradually the number of dragon heads inside starts shrinking. Their pressure eases, a sign the immortals read as Fang Yuan’s arrival. The formation space then breaks, and everyone returns to the outside world to find the ground covered in blood, dragon corpses everywhere, and the immemorial dragon head itself grievously wounded. ch. 1466
Fang Yuan had been fighting invisibly all along, concealed among countless silhouettes from single thought endless clones while ignited thought flying rock and single thought flower blossom sapped and defeated the lesser dragon heads. Unable to find his true body, the immemorial dragon head switches target to Ying Wu Xie’s group, and Fang Yuan’s main body blocks its charge, flying back from the impact before returning to the fight. The dragon head comes away covered in blood against reverse flow protection seal, the move that left Heavenly Court’s Gu Immortals without options. It gives the Shadow Sect immortals their chance to retreat to safety. Fang Yuan then engages the immemorial dragon head directly and kills it, leaving Xue Er completely dazed as she watches him gain the upper hand. Looking down at the cut dragon head and the thousand lingering heads afterward, he sighs that the immemorial desolate beast was a bit weak. ch. 1466
