Blood Torrent
Inside his sovereign immortal aperture, Fang Yuan finishes deducing his new immortal killer move and keeps its working name, Blood Torrent. At his will, hundreds of mortal Gu form a circle around him while Blood Asset flares in his chest, and a river of blood-red light rushes into the sky, carrying him forward. Its stench would sicken anyone nearby, and it hides him completely inside its flow. Adding more mortal Gu raises the river’s speed, but running on only his rank six Blood Asset, its straight line speed cannot match Sword Escape Immortal Gu unless Blood Asset reaches rank seven. That upgrade is not worth pursuing while he remains rank six himself. ch. 1061
Fang Yuan accepts the speed gap, since he deduced Blood Torrent to change direction and cover Sword Escape’s straight line flaw, and reckons that alternating the two lets him barely handle Chu Du. Blood path and sword path would normally weaken each other in one Gu Immortal’s hands, but his sovereign immortal fetus Gu body carries dao marks of every path without interference, so he loses no strength running both. Sword Escape alone flies too simply and is easily countered. Chu Du has not fought openly in a century, so Fang Yuan’s read on him, strong in offense and recovery but usually slow, stays only an estimate, and he marks information path itself as a weakness to fix. Since reviving he thinks far faster than he did in the immortal zombie body, and grandmaster wisdom path attainment leaves him nimbler than in his previous life. ch. 1061
Blood Torrent still needs practice, and over the following days he modifies it, eventually removing mortal Gu instead of adding them so it stays quick to trigger in the short window right after Sword Escape stops. With only one blood path Immortal Gu, he has built three blood path killer moves around Blood Asset and his five hundred years of mortal killer moves: life staking blood print, blood healing lake and Blood Torrent. Only one can run at a time, and he judges this enough for now. Elsewhere he makes do with a scattered mix of Gu worms from many paths, having lost nearly everything he had accumulated at the battle of Yi Tian Mountain. ch. 1061
Waiting only helps Chu Du, who could call in others or lay an immortal battlefield killer move on the plain, so Fang Yuan shrinks and collects his aperture. He appears back on the cold, sunlit northern icy plain, where Chu Du, as expected, is still waiting. Chu Du’s manner is not what Fang Yuan expects. ch. 1061
Chu Du asks Fang Yuan to wait, speaking gently with no killing intent. Fang Yuan snorts and asks whether Chu Du turns polite only after brute force. Chu Du calls himself ashamed and admits he was rash, since what he had just watched mattered too much to his own cultivation road for him to keep his reasoning. Fang Yuan stays silent, watching warily and probing the surroundings, until Chu Du says he only wants the method to draw out Reckless Savage’s true meaning and hopes for a deal instead of enmity. Fang Yuan answers that a deal is not impossible if the offer is worth his interest, but demands settlement first for the attack that interfered with his tribulation. Chu Du promises compensation at once and with visible eagerness, leaving Fang Yuan shocked that the Domination Immortal would swallow his pride this readily, and warier of him for it. Fang Yuan demands the return of his flying sword Immortal Gu as proof of sincerity. ch. 1061
