Heavenly Secret Gu

It resembles a dragonfly, but on closer inspection it is more like a twig. The whole Immortal Gu is very long, about half an adult arm. Its body is thin and long like a twig, and very soft. On each side it has seven feathered wings that are thin and green, resembling leaves. ^{ch. 1475}

Fang Yuan recalls that within wisdom path there is an Immortal Gu that lets a Gu Immortal obtain answers directly without colliding thoughts or making deductions: Heavenly Secret Gu. Historical record names it as created by Paradise Earth Immortal Venerable, who possessed a rank eight heavenly secret Immortal Gu that disappeared without news after his death. Fang Yuan treats that Gu as able to question heaven and earth, and as a threat that could expose his secrets if used against him. ^{ch. 657}

Old Man Yan Shi later uses Heavenly Secret Gu and spends a hundred years of lifespan to deduce that Spring Autumn Cicada is in bad condition and has already been used. ^{ch. 1017} Paradise Earth Immortal Venerable created the Immortal Gu, Spectral Soul Demon Venerable’s split soul Old Man Yan Shi refined it, and it was destroyed in the battle of Yi Tian mountain. ^{ch. 1476} Fang Yuan then refines rank seven Heavenly Secret Gu with Sixth Hair’s help, succeeding on the second try after an earlier failure. The finished Immortal Gu is long and soft like a twig, about half an adult arm in length, with seven feathered wings on each side that look like thin green leaves, and it flies so slowly it seems to float. ^{ch. 1475}

Fang Yuan later lists rank eight Heavenly Secret Gu among his own heaven path accumulation. ^{ch. 2227} Still later he states that Heavenly Secret is in essence a heaven path Gu worm, though he had once thought it was wisdom path, and that Paradise Earth Immortal Venerable created it with heaven path attainment already in hand. Activation again can peek into heaven’s will and answer from heaven and earth, and out of ten activations at least eight still fail and cost ten to seventy years of lifespan on failure, this time tied to heaven path materials and dao marks rather than a mystery of the Gu alone. ^{ch. 2275}
