Development of the Rockmen Tribe
He Feng Yang reads Fang Yuan’s lightning letter, which makes three kinds of requests: primeval stones, Gu worms and materials. Five million primeval stones is no issue for a Gu Immortal. Five spring egg Gu leave him slightly dazed. Each of these rank five Gu, obtained by killing certain eggmen, is a small scale spirit spring that yields at least a hundred million primeval stones, and its price is much higher still. Gu Immortals plant it in their blessed land to thicken the primeval energy and cut their use of immortal essence. He decides three are enough, since the Hu Immortal blessed land will sooner or later become Immortal Crane Sect’s property. ch. 421
He Feng Yang also notes many low ranked Gu worms on the list, rank two and three with a few rank four. He reads this as fear of tampering, so Fang Yuan means to refine the Gu himself, which irritates He Feng Yang somewhat, since he had meant to tamper. He Feng Yang grows apprehensive at how many recipes Fang Yuan knows, judging his background definitely not simple. Still he laughs, because Gu refinement needs huge resources and experience. He does not know that Fang Yuan refined Fixed Immortal Travel Gu, or he would definitely not be laughing. ch. 421
Fang Yuan also wants relic Gu: one yellow gold and three purple crystal. He Feng Yang sees the plan: the first would lift Fang Yuan from rank four upper stage to peak stage, and after rank five initial stage the three purple crystal ones would carry him to rank five peak stage. The sect has such relic Gu, but a fast advance does not suit its interests. He will hand over one purple crystal Gu first to make Fang Yuan envious, then make him pay guts Gu for the rest. ch. 421
The materials are mostly common, but star heron bile, toad stones and ascension wine are extremely uncommon, with very few recipes using them. To make Fang Yuan anxious and reveal his intent, He Feng Yang will not give them all at once. For this deal he offers a vat of ascension wine, brewed by the supreme third elder, whom He Feng Yang officially sided with over a century ago. At the end of the letter he sees the parts of a desolate beast and licks his lips. He guesses the earthly calamity was a desolate beast calamity, and that Fang Yuan used Dang Hun mountain to destroy the swamp crab’s soul and keep a complete corpse. He cannot tell why no rockmen are requested, and he knows nothing of the situation inside Hu Immortal blessed land. Immortal Crane Sect has already sent elders to southern border to investigate. ch. 421
Several days later, Fang Yuan has little Hu Immortal plant a spring egg Gu on the grassland. It drills underground, a milky white fountain spurts twenty to thirty meters high, and the primeval energy in the air becomes very dense. The trade succeeded. Fang Yuan sold the whole swamp crab’s corpse for most of what he needed, including three spring egg Gu. Activating one demands so much primeval essence that Fang Yuan, at rank four upper stage, is absolutely unable to, but little Hu Immortal helps. Only a few pitiful fox groups remain after the sixth earthly calamity, so he buries the three Gu near the rockmen tribes, now only a few hundred strong. Small scale spirit springs last fifty to sixty years, mid-scale ones a century or more, and large scale ones for centuries. ch. 421
Little Hu Immortal says the three springs will greatly reduce their green grape immortal essence expenditure. Fang Yuan calculates that they yield at least three hundred million primeval stones over fifty to sixty years, far from enough for the whole blessed land. The two teleport to Dang Hun mountain, where the rockmen cheer at the many gutstones and tell tribe leader Yan Yong they can found the world’s largest rockmen tribe. The rockmen strike the gutstones to strengthen their souls, and their population grows tenfold in a day. It passes ten thousand on the second morning. On the third evening it reaches three hundred thousand, and the gutstones are plucked clean. On the fourth day the mountain starts emitting pressure, and the rockmen return home to the three new spirit springs. ch. 421
