Chapter 1686

Fang Yuan finds another grotto-heaven, Beast Calamity, with no nine heavens fragment. It is a transformation path grotto-heaven, and his grandmaster attainment in that path is somewhat insufficient, an entire level short. Southern Border has plenty of transformation path dream realms to lift him to great grandmaster, though he would face some hurdles. ^{ch. 1686}

Its original owner, a rank eight Gu Immortal of transformation path, had passed one myriad tribulation. Annexing the grotto-heaven would lift Fang Yuan to one myriad tribulation level at once, progress that could definitely make Heavenly Court panic. Duke Long and Bo Qing reached only two myriad tribulations. A third would mean rank nine. Duke Long, knowing he was not cut out for it, merged his immortal aperture into Heavenly Court as a phantom aperture, while Bo Qing tried to advance and perished. ^{ch. 1686}

Fang Yuan wonders how the grotto-heaven passes calamities and tribulations without a fragment. Heaven form shows that every calamity and tribulation here becomes a beast calamity: heavenly tribulations become desolate beast calamities, grand tribulations ancient desolate beast calamities, and myriad tribulations immemorial desolate beast calamities. The grotto-heaven does not restrict tribulation types but transforms them into ferocious beasts. Fang Yuan has met no other method aimed at tribulations besides calamity beckoning Immortal Gu and immortal tribulation tempering aperture, and he decides he needs this one for his own tribulations. ^{ch. 1686}

Fang Yuan enters through heaven form’s white light unblocked, since no rank eight lives in the grotto-heaven. The grotto-heaven shakes and presses on him from every direction. He realizes it treats him as a tribulation, because he came from outside and is too strong. He could resist by force but fears destroying the beast calamity transformation method, which may not be recorded at the inheritance grounds heaven form found, so he lowers his defenses. ^{ch. 1686}

Endless temporary transformation path dao marks flood his body, and his other dao marks turn into transformation path dao marks. He marvels that the method seems to involve the deepest profundity of transformation path. Transformation path projects any path, but here other paths turn into it instead. Heaven form had already shown the change has no side effects, and he becomes a mountain-sized monster with a bull head and human body. ^{ch. 1686}

The people scream that a monster has appeared again and call for their beast warriors. A Combat Beast Warrior of rank seven Gu Immortal cultivation, plain and serious with a somewhat strange aura, comes to the city wall. He vows to defend his homeland, and a silver-white giant eagle, an ancient desolate beast, merges with him into an eagle-headed, winged warrior as tall as the wall. The crowd cheers him as Eagle Warrior, and he flies at Fang Yuan. Fang Yuan slaps him down into a huge crater, and the crowd goes silent. Eagle Warrior climbs out dizzy and in intense fright, protesting that such a large body could not move so fast. ^{ch. 1686}
