Copper Dragonfish
Fang Yuan examines Spring Autumn Cicada, the rank six time path Immortal Gu sealed inside his immortal zombie body’s aperture, and finds it completely recovered and usable again. Red Lotus Demon Venerable created it personally as his own vital Gu, letting its owner burn everything they own as fuel to send their will upstream through the River of Time. The Gu carries a major flaw: its owner’s luck weakens at all times. It saved Fang Yuan repeatedly at Qing Mao Mountain, Three Kings blessed land and Yi Tian Mountain, but he lost it in the Battle of Yi Tian Mountain. He later regained it filled with heaven’s will, completely unusable to him once he left heaven’s will’s control. Weighing every Immortal Gu he owns, Fang Yuan judges none matters more to him than Spring Autumn Cicada. Until that heaven’s will is stripped out he cannot use the Gu at all, and a rebirth attempt would have heaven’s will kill him outright. ch. 1477
To free it, Fang Yuan activates the immortal killer move Heaven’s Will Dissipation, covering the immortal zombie body in grey-white light that spreads into multicolored eyes attacking the heaven’s will sealed inside Spring Autumn Cicada. The Gu shakes intensely and a mild crack appears on its surface. Fang Yuan halts the move too quickly and injures himself, judging that continuing would enlarge the crack until Spring Autumn Cicada is destroyed. Heaven’s will has a far deeper and more severe hold on it than he expected. He settles on two methods together: refining Heaven’s Will Dissipation further, and combining it with Shadow Sect’s untested method of refining Spring Autumn Cicada before reverse refining it to strip the heaven’s will out. He calls on wisdom Gu and spends hours bathed in the light of wisdom, exhausting himself and resting before returning to a deduction his wisdom path grandmaster attainment cannot touch, one beyond his current capability. He sets aside his soul path cultivation and killer move practice to give the deduction all his time and energy, and holds to it though progress is slow. ch. 1477
While Fang Yuan works at this deduction, his dragon scale sea area breeding project succeeds: a modified dragonfish appears, smaller than normal stock, with dimmer scales that hold a metallic copper luster. Fang Yuan inspects the copper dragonfish and is satisfied. The species comes from a food path immortal Gu formation built on breeding methods from a beastman’s inheritance that Fang Yuan obtained from Shadow Sect, the same beastman who created food path and the dragonfish themselves. Fang Yuan places a portion of the copper dragonfish into treasure yellow heaven for sale. Because he has already been selling dragonfish and drawn You Chan’s counterattack, he expects this true trump card to create a huge commotion once other Gu Immortals see it. ch. 1477
