Chapter 1193

At dawn on Blood Plain, explosions announce the arrival of Immortal Gu Houses. The blood battle martial competition is about to begin. Nu Er tribe’s enormous Loud Thunder Hall descends first, piloted by Nu Er Gu, a rank seven sound path Gu Immortal ranked with Guan Chou, Unfettered Scholar and Pi Shui Han. Extremely excited, he laughs that the hall is extremely powerful and vows his tribe will definitely kill the enemies. Nu Er Qian greets her warmly as an elder sister, and a third house, Yao tribe’s Divine Light Hall, arrives soon after, its rider Yao Yuan Ying greeting Gong Wan Ting before Nu Er Qian. ^{ch. 1193}

Nu Er Qian explains to Nu Er Gu that nobody dares disrespect Gong Wan Ting, Prince Feng Xian’s official wife. Even Yao Huang, she says, would have to be somewhat courteous to her. Yao Yuan Ying’s gentleness as a healer rather than a fighter signals Yao tribe is not putting in much effort. Gong tribe suffered its worst losses at the battle of Iron Eagle blessed land, and after Gong Er was punished on his return, the tribe wanted Prince Feng Xian himself to appear. He saw through the plan, so Gong tribe sent his wife instead, a genuine rank seven expert meant to restore its prestige. Yao Huang, friend to Heavenly Lord Bai Zu, devised the competition as an explanation for Longevity Heaven and kept his focus on refining Gu, sending the healer Yao Yuan Ying and suppressing his tribe’s more combative immortals. Nu Er tribe commits Loud Thunder Hall itself and sends the erratic, very aggressive Nu Er Gu alongside the stable, very reliable Nu Er Qian, who restrains him and holds the final say. ^{ch. 1193}

Eight more Huang Jin tribes arrive after them, Liu, Ye Lui, Chanyu, Meng, Yuan, Nian Er, Murong and Guan, for a total of eleven with Nu Er, Gong and Yao. Two Huang Jin tribes are missing. Dong Fang tribe rose and fell with Dong Fang Chang Fan, destroyed when his plan to resurrect himself failed. Hei tribe’s survivors were annexed by Bai Zu tribe, their name discarded, and the other tribes now disdain them. ^{ch. 1193}

Every arriving tribe greets Gong Wan Ting first, honoring both her own battle strength and her marriage to Prince Feng Xian despite rumors of discord between them. Some grumble that Gong tribe means to suppress Yao tribe by sending her. Others say they prefer Yao tribe since Yao Huang shares their Huang Jin bloodline. Beyond most of the Gu Immortals’ expectations, Yao Yuan Ying offers her the Longevity Edict at once, asking how she could command it with Gong Wan Ting present. She offers three times before Gong Wan Ting accepts, as if reluctant, and sets it on Golden Dawn Hall’s own plaque, then invites everyone inside for wine, an invitation every tribe accepts where Gong Er’s earlier one had been snubbed. ^{ch. 1193}

Seating follows status. Yao tribe sits leftmost, Nu Er tribe rightmost for bringing Loud Thunder Hall, and the rest by the strength of the force each tribe sent. Nian Er Ping Zhi is outraged to be seated last and voice-transmits his anger to the wood path elder Nian Er Yi Fang, present this time alongside Nian Er Fu. Nian Er Yi Fang tells him to prove Nian Er tribe’s prestige instead by killing opponents in the coming competition. Nian Er Ping Zhi agrees at once and resolves to do exactly that, while Gong Wan Ting, watching from the main seat, smiles quietly to herself. ^{ch. 1193}
