Human Qi

Clear heaven qi, golden earth qi, and thick white human qi merge into a multi-colored lump after the aperture shatters. That human qi can cover the body like a balloon and read pure white as snow when the three merge. If human qi falls out of balance, the cultivator can self-detonate. ^{ch. 627}

In Hei Lou Lan’s ascension, her accumulation bursts out as a large amount of human qi. The human qi of the ten extreme physiques is usually overwhelmingly thick, mostly because of the ten extreme apertures, and hers runs many times the human qi of Fang Yuan and Tai Bai Yun Sheng combined. ^{ch. 685}

When Gu Masters cultivate from rank one to rank five they accumulate human qi; at ascension they take in heaven and earth qi, fuse the three, and create the immortal aperture. More human qi means more heaven and earth qi can fuse and a higher grade aperture. Ten extreme physiques and grandmaster attainment on any path both mark abundant human qi. After becoming a Gu Immortal, heaven qi, earth qi, and human qi must still stay balanced, or the immortal aperture takes severe damage. Losing human qi leaves a deficit that placing the aperture to refill earth qi cannot fix alone; replenishing human qi needs human path methods or buying large numbers of humans or variant humans. ^{ch. 1367}

Heaven qi, earth qi, and human qi are the three that must balance for immortal ascension, and human qi remains important to Gu Immortals afterward even though ordinary use falls compared with the breakthrough itself. Methods exist to use human qi as a Gu material, especially among some qi path Gu Immortals with exotic methods. Both variant humans and normal humans can produce human qi; higher numbers and strength raise the quantity, and under the same circumstances a variant human produces less human qi than a pure bred human. ^{ch. 1489}
