Earth Qi

During Tai Bai Yun Sheng’s ascension, clear heaven qi pours from the sky while golden earth qi surges up from the ground. The two fill the immortal aperture as green and golden mists. Heaven and earth qi are the source of all living beings; as they interact they evolve into the things of heaven and earth. Leftover amounts in a high grade blessed land can still refine a mortal Gu into an Immortal Gu. ^{ch. 609}

Corrosion by earth qi turns a person into rocks and kills, which is why Giant Sun’s will does not dare to act rashly against Fang Yuan’s ascension. A Gu Master undergoing ascension must hold the three qi in balance throughout, and too much heaven and earth qi kills. ^{ch. 627}

An immortal aperture takes in the earth qi of the region where it sits. Hu Immortal blessed land on Tian Ti mountain takes in Central Continent earth qi and stays stable in a way an aperture still carried inside a Gu Immortal’s body does not match. ^{ch. 651}

Heaven and earth qi differ across the five regions. A simple test of that qi can reveal which region a Gu Immortal came from when ascending. ^{ch. 679}

Places with little vitality have thin heaven and earth qi. Ascending there softens the tribulation but weakens the immortal aperture’s foundation and future potential unless Gu worms store and supply extra heaven and earth qi. Heavenly tribulations and earthly calamities form when heaven and earth qi grow too thick and accumulate. ^{ch. 683}

When the heaven and earth qi inside an immortal aperture grow insufficient, Gu Immortals place blessed lands on the ground to take in earth qi, and that intake raises the aperture’s foundation. ^{ch. 730}

In translocation desert, large amounts of earth qi move like bubbles in water and open tiny caves. Mortals die there not from lack of air but because earth qi turns them to stone. The same dense earth qi can brew an earth qi sandstorm treated as a rank seven immortal material, and Gu Immortals can collect the earth qi there as a resource. ^{ch. 1393}

A giant lump of earth qi can pile up into underground caves that corrode anything inside into stone statues. If that earth qi becomes too dense it can form earth qi sandstorms; a large amount of earth path immortal materials is produced during those sandstorms. ^{ch. 1859}
