Gu Yue Dong Tu is Fang Yuan and Fang Zheng's uncle in the Gu Yue clan on Qing Mao Mountain, the household head who raises them with his unnamed aunt while holding their parents' fortune.

Chapter 9 first writes Uncle Gu Yue Dong Tu when he offers primeval stones after both brothers awaken as Gu Masters. ch. 9 Before that line the brothers are only called to see aunt and uncle. ch. 8 He and his wife push an adoption that would cut Fang Yuan off from the parental inheritance they already manage, and the same scene states the boys are not their children by birth. ch. 9 That household sits in the Gu Yue clan on Qing Mao Mountain in the South Border. ch. 4 Aunt appears only as Aunt, wife, or Dong Tu’s wife, with no personal name given. ch. 9 ch. 198

Appearance

He wears a Gu Master’s uniform with leg wrappings and a red belt around his waist, neat and clean. He rarely wears that uniform. He is a middle-aged man. His hair is already turning white. ch. 101

Household uncle

He sits the main hall with Aunt when Fang Yuan’s academy cases reach the house, and the couple treat Gu Yue Fang Zheng as the favored son while plotting to strip Fang Yuan of inheritance rights before age sixteen. ch. 9 ch. 30 Fang Yuan already classes uncle, aunt, and Jiao San as rank two Gu Masters while weighing whether to kill them over the inheritance trap. ch. 90 Offstage Dong Tu promises Jiao San a fortune if Fang Yuan’s growth is slowed past sixteen; the text never shows that fortune paid. ch. 94 When Fang Yuan reaches rank two and applies for asset splitting, Dong Tu bribes an internal affairs contact to stall the mission and assign the hardest task, and he claims outsider help would break clan rules. ch. 98

Rank two hidden elder

In a direct talk he recounts B grade talent, rank two initial stage at sixteen, upper stage at seventeen, peak stage at eighteen, and a charge toward rank three cut short when a Xiong village Gu Master nearly killed him at twenty. The medicine hall’s elder personally moved and saved him, but his aptitude dropped to C grade and left him at rank two peak stage; he says he left the front lines at forty-five, and clan members still call him the “hidden elder” even without the elder seat. ch. 101 Fang Yuan later ties that outside influence to selling vitality leaves from the Nine Leaf Vitality Grass held in the inheritance. ch. 102

Fang Yuan takes the grass Gu, wine tavern, bamboo buildings, farmland, and servants; ch. 102 Dong Tu had already skimmed that month’s tavern income, ch. 103 and he keeps pressing through proxies, ch. 107 until Gu Yue Man Shi’s failure ends the harassment. ch. 109 Fang Yuan later sells the tavern and bamboo assets back to him for Relic Gu funds. By then Dong Tu has already sold away the fighting Gu worms he once used, and he warns Aunt not to lean on Fang Zheng yet while the adopted son’s future is still unsettled. ch. 112 After Fang Yuan becomes an elder, Dong Tu and Aunt receive him in fear and accept a gift of primeval stones under Gu Yue Chi Zhong’s eyes. ch. 158

Inside the blood barrier

When Fang Yuan and Bai Ning Bing slaughter Gu Yue clansmen for Blood Skull Gu, Dong Tu and his wife kneel and beg as uncle and aunt. Fang Yuan answers with a blood colored moonblade and beheads both. ch. 198

Named in Fang Zheng’s revenge

Fang Zheng names revenge for uncle and aunt among the drives behind his Immortal Crane Sect years. ch. 334

Captivity accusation

In captivity Fang Zheng names Fang Yuan as the killer of uncle, aunt, and clan. ch. 846
