Chapter 645

Mo Yao’s will confirms that on finding Fang Yuan’s Spring Autumn Cicada she thought at once of using it to be reborn. She lured him to Water Pavilion with calamity beckoning Gu, engineered his refining of ten percent of it to lower his alertness, and hid in the sweat on his skin. Fang Yuan says he knew Water Pavilion was on him. Her will never weakened despite her exertions, which only Water Pavilion’s replenishment could explain. Delight in water and mountain Gu creates only joyful will, she says, so other Gu worms convert that joyful will into hers, and her will can sway his thoughts. ^{ch. 645}

Fang Yuan says that waking to find Water Pavilion turned into armor around him showed something was wrong. When Giant Sun’s will attacked in a frenzy, he guessed its tactic and purposely moved slowly so the formless hand would attack, which proved her ill intentions. Afterward he coaxed her into his immortal aperture and got hit on purpose so that most of the Gu worms he borrowed from her were sealed, to keep her from holding any that need no primeval essence. She says his acting surpassed hers. ^{ch. 645}

Knowing she wanted Fixed Immortal Travel gone because it disrupted her plans, Fang Yuan asks how she could be sure the six fingered formless hand would take it and not Spring Autumn Cicada. She is only a will, she replies, and cannot control everything. She was overjoyed when the hand took Fixed Immortal Travel and interfered with his thoughts so that he helped Tai Bai Yun Sheng, and the delay made him lose it. When she blocked the seven fingered formless hand, she meant to sacrifice rank seven calamity beckoning Gu, but the hand took the core, water harmony Gu. She never struck Spring Autumn Cicada because his Gu Immortal will is still inside, so she only influenced him secretly. ^{ch. 645}

Fang Yuan says her plan might once have kept fooling him, but right before coming to northern plains he made a similar mistake, and he never commits the same mistake twice. A young woman dressed in white appears in his mind. He credits the light halo of wisdom Gu for making his thoughts extremely sharp, and asks what type of will she is. She answers that her will is fake will, which disguises itself as a person’s thoughts and collides with their thinking to change their decisions. Fang Yuan realizes that is why he could not find her, but insists he will not use Spring Autumn Cicada. ^{ch. 645}

She replies that she perfected six arm heavenly zombie king with him and purposely gave a false estimate so that his body turned into a zombie with no future, and that he has no trump cards left. She adds that she will no longer lend him worldly wave trace Immortal Gu. She says the cicada’s drawback is progressively worse luck for its owner, as Red Lotus Demon Venerable suffered. She says even lucky Ma Hong Yun will surely fall captive to northern plains. Fang Yuan answers that self-detonating with the cicada would set his weakness, a contest of wills, against her strength. ^{ch. 645}

She laughs that he is not entirely right: she does intend to use Spring Autumn Cicada, but his foundation cannot carry her ten thousand years back. She plans to find Red Lotus Demon Venerable’s inheritance while travelling upstream in the river of time, and use its power to go ten thousand years into the past. She actually knows of Red Lotus Demon Venerable’s secret inheritance ground. Fang Yuan gives no response. ^{ch. 645}

Outside, Giant Sun’s will counts down to one and calls Fang Yuan stubborn for resisting to the end. Ye Lui Sang and the Gu Masters shout that the demon deserves death. The wind veil of assimilation is within a hundred steps. The Gu Masters stand at and outside the edge of wisdom Gu’s halo with only Fang Yuan inside, and the veil shrinks the space so it will soon reach the halo. ^{ch. 645}
